Clover Pass Resort
Overview
Clover Pass Resort is a premier destination for those seeking the ultimate Alaskan fishing experience. Nestled along the protected waters of the Inside Passage, this resort combines the rugged beauty of the Tongass National Forest with the convenience of a dedicated sportfishing facility. It is more than just a place to park; it is a gateway to the bountiful waters of Southeast Alaska, offering a authentic coastal experience that focuses on the region's rich natural resources.
Location & Surroundings
Situated approximately 15 miles north of downtown Ketchikan, the resort sits directly on the shores of Clover Passage. This location offers a serene buffer from the busy cruise ship traffic while remaining easily accessible via the North Tongass Highway. Travelers are surrounded by lush old-growth forests and the dramatic coastline typical of Revillagigedo Island, providing a truly immersive wilderness atmosphere where the forest meets the sea.
Amenities & Park Features
The resort provides specialized full hookup RV sites that cater to travelers who want to stay close to the action. On-site facilities include essential laundry services and clean showers, which are highly valued by those spending long days on the water. For the serious angler, the resort features a full-service marina with skiff rentals and professional fish processing. This allows guests to clean, vacuum-seal, and freeze their catch immediately, ensuring the highest quality for their journey home.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While fishing for salmon and halibut is the primary draw, there is plenty more to explore in the immediate area. A short drive takes you to Totem Bight State Historical Park, where visitors can admire intricate Tlingit and Haida carvings and a traditional clan house. Exploring the Tongass National Forest offers unique hiking opportunities and frequent chances to spot local wildlife, including bald eagles, seals, and the occasional black bear foraging along the shoreline.
Who This Park Is Best For
Clover Pass Resort is an ideal choice for dedicated anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize direct access to the water. It suits travelers looking for a functional and scenic basecamp to enjoy Alaska's marine life rather than a standard highway stopover. If your goal is to catch trophy-sized fish while enjoying the quietude of a coastal forest, this specialized resort fits your travel style perfectly.

The good- the shuttle service to & from airport was great. The boat included in my self guide package was clean & ran great. The bad, - this was my 3rd stay & my previous was 4 years ago. The place has gone downhill from before. Food is nothing to rave about, and very few choices. Its no longer self serve, but more like subway sandwich shop. The 1970's baseboard heat in our room was dangerously close to the bed. The bathroom door doesnt close & latch ( room #1) 1 electric outlet not near a table or stand. No longer have soup during lunch hours. No longer have frozen herring available, only old salted herring. We lost fish due to a hole in our net provided on the boat. Went in and traded it for another net , which we later found out had holes as well.after 3 trips back to the dock, we finally got one that we could use. tackle provided was minimal at best. The young people working the docks were awesome. I'll be checking other places for my next trip.

Loved our time here between ferry rides. We stationed here and walked around, picking berries, seeing the sites. The space was a bit cramped, but what can you expect. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We booked a fishing trip with Svenson Sport Fishing while on a cruise, had a blast and caught lots of fish, highly recommend. As for the shipping of the fish, absolutely horrible. As a FedEx employee i asked if i could use my account to pay for shipping since i get a nice discount. Told lady i spoke with on phone that i could scedule pick up, all they had to do on computer was click on bill recipient and put in my account number. She said they can"t do that, it would confuse the young kids working there........REALLY. Paid $500 to ship 55lbs of fish priority overnight. Shipped out Monday so i get to work Tuesday morning and track package and it"s still in Alaska. Apparently the plane which was a Alaskan Airlines plane had mechanical issues and missed getting to Anchorage before the FedEx plane left. Being a employee, i know FedEx has a money back policy. I call Clover Pass to explain the situation and she said you did get your fish and i told her i paid to get it Tuesday not Wednesday. She said she would give my information to a manager and i would here back from them. Well, four different times i spoke to someone who was gonna have a manager call me and i never got a call, email or anything. Only the shipper can put in a claim to FedEx to get reimbursed for shipping charges. Obviously they make money on shipping charges but weren't willing to put the customer first. Thanks for nothing !!!

My son and husband just returned from here. The rooms were as minimal but nice hot showers. The mattress sunk almost to the floor it felt he said. So hardly any sleep. Food was delicious. Breakfast plenty to choose and start the day off great. Packing your lunches was Terrific. The dinners good at the end of an Amazing fishing filled day. Loved the outdoor big deck and activities. Plus what a view. Thanks for the live camera of the loading/unloading so I could get lots of pictures with about a 40 second lag. They supplied rain gear and did an amazing job cleaning and packing all their fish for the trip home. Truly a trip of a lifetime. But please get new mattresses ; )

We had a great time here fishing for 3 days. Not luxury, but who's looking for that on a fishing trip? The rooms were nice and comfortable. Food was good and there was lots of it. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I will most likely be making a return trip here for more fishing.
