Cottonwood RV Park

Overview

Cottonwood RV Park serves as a tranquil retreat nestled in the historic town of Bluff, Utah. This park is well-regarded for its namesake towering cottonwood trees, which provide much-needed shade in the arid high-desert climate. Unlike the bustling tourist hubs nearby, this park offers a slower pace, making it an excellent stop for those looking to recharge. The atmosphere is authentically Western, emphasizing the natural beauty of the surrounding red rock mesas and the open sky.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the scenic San Juan River valley, the park is surrounded by dramatic sandstone cliffs and ancient landscapes. Bluff is a quiet community with a deep history, located just off Highway 191. The location is perfectly positioned for exploring the southeastern corner of Utah, providing a quieter alternative to Moab. Guests can enjoy the peaceful sounds of the desert while being within walking distance of local historic sites and small-town eateries that capture the essence of the Old West.

Amenities & Park Features

The park features level, gravel sites designed to accommodate a variety of setups. Utility offerings include full hookups with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, ensuring a comfortable stay. On-site facilities include:

  • Spacious pull-through sites for larger rigs.
  • Clean restrooms and private hot showers.
  • Guest laundry facilities and reliable Wi-Fi access.

The park maintains a rustic vibe while providing essential comforts for modern travelers.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Adventure awaits just a short drive from the park gates. Visitors often use Bluff as a gateway to the Valley of the Gods, a stunning landscape of monolithic buttes, and the nearby Goosenecks State Park. The area is rich in archaeological history, with the Sand Island Petroglyphs located just minutes away. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the vast expanses of Bears Ears National Monument or take a day trip to the iconic spires of Monument Valley.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is best suited for independent travelers and adventure-seeking RVers who prioritize a central location for sightseeing over resort-style luxuries. It is an ideal fit for photography enthusiasts and history buffs who want to explore the Four Corners region. Because of the shaded campsites and quiet environment, it also appeals to long-haul travelers looking for a restful night’s sleep away from the highway noise often found at larger commercial parks.

Stayed with a group. Good location for visiting Natural Bridges National Monument and Moki Dugway (which is an exciting drive)

I was cycling across the USA and this is a lovely little stop off. Great tent spots, which is always a worry with RV places. Owner was amazing and gave me a recommendation for where to go next. And the views from here are quite something. Put your feet up here for the evening!

Another great stay at Cottonwood RV. Came in way late was still greeted with a smile and welcome. The bathrooms are top notch. The host does a fantastic job on upkeep, security, overall organization. This park can accommodate small truck campers, or full blown Big rigs, Highly recommend .

Went here about 3 weeks ago for a nice little get away with me and my wife and a couple really good friends. My rent and everything feel apart so stayed in our friends RV The girl that runs this is so sweet and all around great person we stayed a couple nights and she was always asking if everything was ok and checked on us regularly. Great great place to stay and will again hopefully soon. Thank you Hun so much. Sorry it took so long to get you a review been crazy busy trying to play catch up. Have a blessed time up there can't wait to see you again.

This is a nice RV park. It is located slightly of the main road so it's relatively quiet. Spaces have plenty of room. Full hookups for the RV sites. Hookups were in very good condition. Tent sites were available. Cost was very reasonable. Restrooms and showers were clean. There are no laundry facilities.

Cottonwood RV Park has undergone updates and is a great place to stay. Greatly improved since we were there a few years ago. Clean, full service RV park. Nancy is very attentive to her customers. The only improvement I would suggest is to improve internet connectivity, however it looks like fiber optic cable is being installed to Bluff so that should be a big help. The sites are open, easy to access and large. You don't have another RV slammed up against your side. Definitely a good place to drop anchor.

Close to everything in the Four Corners area. The owner Nancy is very attentive. Clean bathrooms. Just far enough off of the road that it's quiet at night with an amazing night sky. Only complaint is that the wifi is horrible and Verizon coverage is non-existent. We would definitely stay there again.
