Creekwood Inn Motel & RV Park

Overview

Creekwood Inn Motel & RV Park serves as a practical and reliable gateway for those exploring the Last Frontier. Located conveniently within the city limits of Anchorage, this family-operated destination bridges the gap between rugged Alaskan adventure and urban comfort. It offers a straightforward, no-nonsense environment that allows travelers to focus on their itinerary while enjoying the essential services needed for a successful road trip. This park is widely recognized for its clean facilities and its role as a steady home base for travelers transitioning between the deep wilderness and the city.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled in a bustling part of midtown, specifically near the Chester Creek Greenbelt. This location is a major asset for RVers who need to be close to specialized mechanics, gear shops, or large supermarkets. While the surroundings are decidedly urban, the nearby paved trail systems allow you to immerse yourself in greenery and local wildlife without leaving the city. It provides a unique balance where the convenience of city life meets the natural beauty of the Anchorage basin.

Amenities & Park Features

The RV sites are designed for functionality, featuring level, paved pads and full hookups. Guests can take advantage of several essential features during their stay:

  • 30 and 50-amp electrical service at every site.
  • Clean restrooms and private hot showers.
  • On-site laundry facilities for long-term travelers.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi and cable TV access.

Because the property also includes a motel, it is a great choice for caravan groups where some members might prefer a standard guest room while others stay in their rigs. The dump station and freshwater fill are also easily accessible for those passing through.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the immediate convenience of shopping, the park is a short trip from the Alaska Zoo and the bustling downtown area. You can easily spend a day at the Anchorage Museum or take a scenic drive to the nearby Chugach State Park for world-class hiking. The proximity to the Seward Highway also makes it a perfect starting point for day trips to see glaciers or go whale watching in Whittier, allowing you to return to a secure, serviced site at night.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is best suited for logistics-oriented travelers and those who enjoy being in the center of the action. It is an ideal stop for those who need reliable city hookups to recharge their batteries before heading into more remote areas like Denali or the Kenai Peninsula. If you are looking for a secure, paved spot with easy access to Anchorage’s dining and cultural highlights, this park fits your travel style perfectly.

This hotel Should be condemned torn down and rebuilt. The floors are rotten The furniture looked like they got it off of the corner and threw it in there. There were homeless people actively smoking drugs and knodding out while standing. When you walk into the room, the smell of cigarettes and Grossness hits you. You can't breathe in the room, can't open a window and you can't leave your car without the real threat of somebody breaking into it. The management was trying to remove the homeless people and had his hands full. Apparently this used to be a decent place back in the day.

This place is not like it advertised. Definitely on the bottom of list for places to stay. The room was horrible with peeling paint on the walls. Worst of all night the water was ice cold that we couldnt even take a shower.

First time ever writing a review. This place is a horror show: scary with barbed wire fence around it. Room was beat up and the bathroom was disgusting. Bath/shower was stained, pealing and had smears of blue paint on it. Booked online and the picture was deceptive. The price of hotels in Anchorage is criminal.

Cramed nto a gravel parking lot in downtown Anchorage. If you want something decent you HAVE to camp outside Anchorage. We chose it because we were concerned about our early train departure, we should have just resigned ourselves to a very early wake up, since we barely slept anyway. It is located on a Very busy loud road. We asked to be parked as far away from the highway as possible. They accommodated. We were given the spot next to the large roll off dumpster. If your rig is large, the space will not accommodate your towing vehicle. After a long day away from the site we returned to our site with another RV parked (no exaggeration here) Inches away from our toy hauler door. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to open it. We slept on the floor of our rig because opening the canvas tip out bed wouldn't create a sound barrier, and frankly, I was nervous! The campground manager was pleasant. The soap less, paper towel less lock less " bath house" did appear to be clean.

Don't stay here! This place is not safe. There were people asking me for rides to the liquor store, a guy passed out in the lobby, no extra lock on the door, no screens in the windows, moldy coffee maker & multiple holes in the walls. When I told them that I had 2 young children and didn't feel safe the night of arrival they said I'd have to wait until the next morning to talk to the manager. I then I asked if we could check out a day early and Crystal refused, yet rented the room to another person.

*This review is for the RV park only* We were in Anchorage and needed full hookup and coin laundry, so we stayed here. But quickly regretted it. All night long there were sketchy people talking, yelling, smoking in the parking lot, car alarm was blasting, someone was walking around with boombox and I couldn’t sleep. Bathroom was… dilapidated to say the least. Door to the bath house (bathroom, shower, coin laundry) had broke key pad so I had to go to the office and ask staff to open up the door with their key EVERY time. I don’t blame on the employees, they were nice and doing their job but owner needs to work on the property maintenance.

We stayed for 6 nights it was safe and sound. husband and me checked in Creekwoodinn for 4th of July 2025 holidays. I was sceptical at first as most of the of hear and say about small hotels are not always blissful. Creekwoodinn is an exception I believe. It is located in beautiful place and has awesome staff, beautiful trail, park, walking distance Fred Myers, gas station, wendys, and other eating places. We were welcomed by cheerful Tawfaa the way he handledthe booking and checkin process was really good. Next morning we meet Crystal, the way she was taking care of property we thought she must be the owner so she is so passionate. But she is one of the wonderful staff here. She along with her daughter who must be like 17 or 18 work together. Places run by families are sure safe and cosy So don't be alarmed if you see some homeless people around. Therooms clean with wifi and tv all good. if you are looking for budget friendly stay during peek holidays or other wise this is definitely good place. They are honestly running the place with facilities in a harsh terrain and trying to put food on plate for their families like anyone else.so it's commendable. So i believe little kindness can go long way when we review such places.

... never again. They charge you 54$ per night for a site less than 30yards away from an extremely noisy highway where water faucets are dry and used condoms are lying on the ground. The bathhouse is a digustingly dirty mess with all human odours you can imagine. Laundry machines are available but we did not use them due to the horrible hygienic situation.

Probably the worst hotel I've ever been to. When I got here some of the sockets didn't even have light bulbs. And was overly priced at $114 for the 7x7ft room I was given. And that's not dirt on the floors. I tried mopping already its built up grime and scuffs on the fake wood floors.

Nice quiet place. I'm older and have trouble getting around. Maybe next time I can get a room on the ground floor. Helpful and courteous staff. Honest staff as well.
