Crossett Harbor RV Park

Overview

Crossett Harbor RV Park offers a tranquil escape for travelers seeking the natural beauty of southern Arkansas. Managed by the city, this park provides a scenic setting right on the Ouachita River, making it a preferred destination for those who appreciate a slower pace of life. Whether you are passing through Ashley County or planning an extended fishing trip, the park serves as a well-maintained basecamp with easy access to the water and the surrounding wilderness.

Location & Surroundings

The park is uniquely positioned adjacent to the Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge, which spans over 65,000 acres of wetlands and hardwood forests. The surrounding landscape is dominated by towering cypress trees and calm river currents, creating a peaceful atmosphere away from heavy highway noise. Visitors often enjoy the sights and sounds of local wildlife, including migratory birds and white-tailed deer that frequent the wooded borders of the campground area.

Amenities & Park Features

This facility caters to modern travelers with a variety of essential features. The park includes full hookup sites equipped with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service to accommodate different rig sizes. Guests have access to functional amenities including:

  • Level parking areas with concrete pads
  • On-site bathhouse and laundry facilities
  • A convenient public boat ramp for immediate river access
  • Picnic pavilions and a playground for families

The layout is designed to provide enough space for slide-outs while maintaining a sense of privacy among the mature trees that shade many of the sites.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw for many visitors is the exceptional recreational fishing available in the Ouachita River and nearby Felsenthal pool. Anglers often target bass, crappie, and catfish in these fertile waters. Beyond the river, the wildlife refuge offers miles of waterways for kayaking and bird watching. For a change of pace, the city of Crossett provides local dining options and historical sites that showcase the region's deep roots in the timber and paper industries.

Who This Park Is Best For

Crossett Harbor RV Park is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and retirees who prefer a rustic, natural environment over high-density commercial resorts. It is a fantastic choice for boaters and birders who want to be steps away from the water. Travelers looking for a quiet stopover with clean facilities and friendly local management will find exactly what they need here. It is best suited for those who enjoy the simplicity of the Arkansas outdoors.

Dont live at this campsite only for camping. If you live monthly and have to move you wont get your rent back . Nice management. But this campsite does flood. That's why I left early.

My son lived in his motor home at this park several years ago. I drove through today and it's still a nice campground. The spots are large and shady. There are concrete picnic tables at each one plus pretty good grills. Some spots are right on the water. There are sewer setups if you plan on being there long term.

This is a very nice RV Park with about 100 spaces for rent. The park manager and wife are very friendly. The park roadway is marked off with arrows and mile markers and is three miles (five kilometers) from start to finish. For the adventurous types there is a two mile loop forest hiking trail.
