It is situated on a 5.5-mile long lake known for its incredibly clear waters and excellent fishing opportunities. The park provides a rustic yet comfortable environment for RVers looking to escape the crowds of larger coastal or metropolitan parks. It is a prime destination for those who appreciate scenic lake views and a quiet, natural atmosphere within the shadows of the impressive Kettle River Range.
Location & Surroundings
Located just eight miles north of the historic gold-mining town of Republic, the park sits at an elevation of 2,350 feet. The landscape features a mix of rolling hills and ponderosa pine forests that transition into the rugged beauty of the nearby Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This area is characterized by its crisp mountain air and diverse wildlife, including ospreys, herons, and bald eagles that frequent the shoreline. The remote location ensures dark night skies perfect for stargazing from your campsite during the clear summer months.
Amenities & Park Features
The park accommodates a variety of RV sizes with several utility campsites offering water and electrical hookups. Visitors have access to a convenient dump station, modern restrooms with heated showers, and multiple picnic shelters for group gatherings. For water enthusiasts, there are two well-maintained boat launches and several docks, making it easy to access the lake for a day of exploration. The grounds are thoughtfully laid out with grassy areas and mature trees providing shade and a sense of privacy between the sites.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Fishing is the primary draw here, particularly for those seeking the challenge of tiger muskie, rainbow trout, or yellow perch. Land-based activities include exploring the Ferry County Rail Trail, which offers miles of flat, scenic hiking and biking paths along the lake and river. A short drive into the town of Republic allows visitors to visit the Stonerose Interpretive Center, where guests can actually dig for their own Eocene-era fossils and learn about the region’s fascinating geological and mining history.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and families who enjoy quiet water-based recreation without the high-energy noise of a commercial resort. It is a perfect fit for RVers who prefer a natural state park setting and are looking for a serene basecamp to explore the undiscovered wilderness of northeast Washington. This is a great park. We visited in early October - the sweet spot between summer (we've heard there are too many boats and kids), and hunting season. The lake was quiet, the fall colors were great, and the park staff were really nice. While here for 5 nights, we visited Republic (fossil digging was surprisingly fun) and the brewery was excellent. We also rode the section of bike trail from Curlew (town) to the border (20 miles round trip, all flat). Hiking options too, but we didn't hike this time.

Such a beautiful lake, the views here are incredible! There are plenty of campsites, and while there isn’t a ton of privacy between them, the location and easy water access more than make up for it. Perfect spot if you enjoy being right by the lake, swimming, or just relaxing by the water.

Site 75 is the best one on the lower loop, 4 stars and not 5 because the parking is little bit weird. Super calm and quiet place.

The park was nice. The bathrooms/showers were always clean. There was only a little hiking, and it was not a lot of space per each campsite, which was why it lost one star. But overall a good time. We visited in early August so no fires allowed. Check-in process was simple and thorough.
