Came here to have a relaxing trip. Ended up with a camper directly behind us with 10 dogs. Not an exaggeration exactly 10 dogs and they barked continuously. Every time a person, a vehicle or golf cart went past they barked. Then the power went out which to clarify was not the campgrounds fault but at that point staying with no ac running to drown out the dog barking we decided it was time to go. Asked at the office about a refund for the two nights we weren’t staying and we were told no that we could have a camp credit which we passed on because of the issues with dogs. Who knows what it would be the next time we came back.

First campground I've ever encountered that doesn't answer their phone, nor return voice messages, nor reply to emails. After repeatedly contacting them over a 2 1/2 week period, with not even a hint of a reply, I made reservations elsewhere. Business must be awfully good, that they don't need to reply to inquiries.

This is our second year. We stay a full week each time. We drive five hours and 15 minutes for spot 34. This is electric/water hookup. We bring a rhino hookup for easy dumping of black water by the office. This campground is by far the best and we love it. Extremely well run. Check in and out is very well set up. Gate access is fantastic. Great pool with large walk down steps and goes from 3-5 foot gradually. Small camp store that is well stocked. Weekend activities (this year it was bingo and two live bands). Free Hey Rides on Saturdays at 3. Relaxed atmosphere. We had 5 sites total betwen all the family that came down and it was amazing. Clean campground with a great feel for the country setting. All pictures were within 50 feet of our site.

Spent a little over a week here. Everyone we met was friendly. Had a great time swimming. Nice laundry facility, small game room kept us busy while we were doing laundry, played some put put too. Nice little store. Lots to do in the area!!!

Because I travel full time, my family and I stayed for a full month. The campground could have more RV spots for campers but its okay. The weekends here get BUSY! But the weekdays are very quiet .They don't have any bathroom facilities except for the outhouses near the pool. No bath houses also means no showers unless you have an RV or happen to know one of the annual site members. The pool is nice! Only 5ft deep so great for the kids, there are two playgrounds one big one and the other is about half the size. They have an off leash dog area and this place is very dog friendly. You're literally across the street from Cooks forest so if you are planning on visiting the forest or staying for a week or two, this was a great place. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Tracie does a great job of making everyone feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this camp ground to anyone looking to stay in Cooks forest/Cooksburg.

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at Deer Meadow. Everyone was very friendly and it’s very well kept. The kids enjoyed the playground, mini golf, pool and DJ. The sites are a little tight, next year we will get a pull thru spot for the extra space. But honestly our neighbors were all very nice so it wasn’t a big deal being so close. Looking forward to next year!

I stayed there last weekend for the first time. And although it does seem very nice from the outside the owner was very rude to me and my guests. She accused us of lying to her and trying to get extra people to stay. Nobody was staying but me and my fiance. It really seems to me they don't care much about weekenders. Because we spoke to the few of them that were around us and they all said the same thing. Even the canoe rental place told us they hear bad things about that place all the time. I would definitely look for somewhere else.

We have been camping here for almost 20 years. The owners are always updating the campsites and the facilities. They are very personable people and make sure all campers have a great/safe time. We love the “camping in the woods” feel here! The owners have rules and they are consistent with them, which are fine, it helps make our stay here a relaxing time which is what we get away to camp for! Thanks Deer Meadow Campground! 😊
