What a great 3 nights here at Tek. We did have rain at some point on each day but it didn't stop the exploding. The pit toilets were very clean and smelled great. They have a walk in food storage if you need somewhere to store your food. There were a few tenters when we were there but most had a trailer or other RV. There are a lot of bear proof trash recepticles. This was one of the cleanest campgrounds we have been to. We were in loop 1 and had a great site. No one ever took the site next to us and the other side was the food locker so we had a really quiet spot. We didn't see the camphost except at their site. There is a bus stop right outside the campground so you can get in the green transit bus if you have a Tek Pass. We bought one so that was great for going farther into the park. They will take you out to mile 43. You can ask them to stop anywhere and if you need a ride back to the campground you just have to flag a bus down. We walked along the Teklanika River but didn't see any wildlife there. When on the transit bus, we saw Dall Sheep, plenty of Caribou, and at the Teklanika Rest Stop, there was a grizzly along the river. What great memories we will have of this campground!

Very nice quiet campground. Must book for a minimum of 3 nights. Once you arrive at campground, you can not drive your vehicle until you leave the campground going back to the main Denali area. The shuttle bus has a stop in front of the campground, so you can travel the park road. Must have a ticket in order to ride the bus.

Great camp sites! Deep enough into the park to get a more remote experience, clean and well spaced camp sites, and walk-up access to the Teklanika River which makes for an easy hike with plenty of animal spotting potential (we opened up the season back in May 2025 and saw a caribou herd with calves galore, a moose, a handful of porcupine, and plenty of smaller animals and birds). Highly recommend getting a spot on the far-back side of the campground since your site will have a path leading directly to the river and there’s a bit more privacy due to fewer neighbors too.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay here - really decent weather, no rain, not really windy. Plenty of bathrooms (pit toilets) and very well spaced amongst the sites. From this section of the park, you will NOT get a view of Denali - must take a bus further in (@$33 a ticket). Various sizes of sites, but most of them will accommodate starlink and solar. Camp host did his job well - walked campground throughout the day - cleaning & stocking bathrooms, checking generator hours, and just being seen. Our check in at Riley Creek Mercantile was easy and very informative - the gal who checked us in had ALL the information and answers to our questions. Something to be said for letting a concessionaire run the business portion of the park and letting the rangers do their jobs in the park. Water spouts with potable water, but not for filling your RV - only for filling jugs, etc. There are a lot if trash and recycling bins throughout the loops. It appears that the sites on the first loop, 1-27, are larger than the second loop. Dump station and potable water available at Mercantile and they encouraged us to dump and fill prior to going to campground.

Amazing experience at Tek. Great campground host. Many nice campers and a much shorter bus ride to East Fork. You can ride the bus as much as you want with a Tek pass. And the icing on the cake--spectacular views of Mt. McKinley!

7/3/24. Beautiful campground in Denali NP. We were lucky to get in since we didn't have advanced reservations. We're in a 38' class A , several larger spots to pick from. We had to leave our toad in Riley Creek overflow parking. Camp hosts were awesome! They had to cancel our bus tour due to the Riley 🔥 fire. I'm glad they got it under control quickly.

Excellent 3 day adventure here that I wish had been at least a week! So much to explore and see from here and the quiet is amazing. Grizzly was wandering around the campground although we never saw him. Campground host was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this for a total disconnect from the day to day.

Stayed here for 8 days at the end of August 2021. It rained every day and snowed one of them. The grounds themselves were very well kept, trash and bathrooms were cleaned every day. Saw park rangers driving by quite a bit as well. I can’t definitely say you can or can not see Denali peak from the campground as it was cloudy the whole time. Ironically though, the drive in and out was beautiful and well worth driving a snails pace and pulling off on every designated space for pictures. Have a solar setup if your bringing an rv. They have designated generator hours and we used every bit of it and our heater still sapped our batteries over night. The day we left the closed the campground for a week to try and get a bear away from the grounds. Careful if you bring pets. Your not allowed to bring pets on hiking trails, or leave them alone in the camp site either, so be aware of that as well.

Good place to stop and stretch you legs. Plenty of bathrooms. Was not allowed to walk to the river due to bear activity. But the views of the glacial river is incredible.

Booked the site because you got to go past the famed "mile 15". It has 52 rv sites, which you just put a tent in if you don't have an RV. Cool. What i didn't realized is that you are basically a prisoner. Can't use your own vehicle on the roads not even to go back to visitor center or else you wouldn't be allowed to go back to camp to get your stuff (I did know about this stipulation and was okay becausewe had the bus). $60 bus ticket is mandatory if you want to leave the campsite and go from mile 29.1 (tek) to mile 66 (eileson) unless your healthy enough to hike/walk that far. Oh, don't even think about taking that same bus from mile 29.1 to mile 0 since you would need to buy another bus ticket to get back to camp. Mile 0-15 contains more ada friendly hikes, the dog kennels, etc. Why? Great question...and not one that was given an answer by our very hostile and condescending host "Ed", who ended up telling us "maybe this isn't the campground for you". We left a day early because we had older, less mobile campers and wanted to do stuff other that hike/bike. The bus and host are part of the Doyson corporation and really do a terrible job with this national park.
