Clean, well kept campgrounds. A pool and amazing playground for kids. We were just passing through but we're very impressed with the location, the pizza, ice cream, and gift shop. The staff was so nice and accommodating. Definitely a 5 star place.

We had a good time at the Adel KOA. The kids enjoyed the activities and the jumping pillow! We stayed in KL01, and the beds were terrible. The queen bed sank into the middle, and a squeak amplified every move. The twin bunk mattresses were very thin in the middle where the kids attempted to sleep. Before booking, please ask if the mattresses have been replaced. No one slept well. That said, the cabin had everything we needed for the weekend. It was clean and fresh when we arrived. We'll be back again but we'll bring our own beds after this experience!

Had a wonderful stay at Des Moines West KOA. The park features numerous activities for children, including a large bounce pad, a playground area, a small, but nice pool and a gameroom. Laundry room was clean, with 4 washers and dryers. Shower facilities were pretty much the usual. They were always kept clean. There are 2 large family shower rooms that were very nice. The staff here was very nice and helpful. As a bonus, you could order pizza and it was delivered to your campsite. I would definitely recommend and would surely stay again if I were in the area.

Sorry for the long review. So much to say about this great KOA. Just a couple of miles north of the interstate. The drive through the farmlands was so relaxing. Easy to find. We stayed here overnight. So quiet out here. To the person who complained they got yelled at for not stopping at the entrance because they didn't see the stop signs, you obviously don't have a lot of camping experience and you must be blind. Many campgrounds have you stop at the entrance so you can check in, not to mention that this KOA has two HUGE stop signs. You can't miss them. The staff was friendly when we checked in. We ordered our pizza and a kid led us to our site. By the time we got settled in, that same kid delivered our pizza. Great timing. I tipped him $5. Wish I had given him more money. Anything to support the youth when they work hard. And the pizza was actually pretty good. Sites are spacious enough. Definitely not on top of each other. For the person who complained about the bird poop on the picnic table, I'm pretty sure the campground can't control the birds. Birds will do their own thing. Also to the person who complained about not being able to walk around the campground because of all the gravel, where the heck have you been camping? At the Hilton??? Went outside and watched the fireflies. That's a treat for us because where we live, we don't have fireflies. Brought back a lot of fun childhood memories. Birds were having a chirping party. It was sweet to hear them. So many activities here. I can easily see lots of families having a grand time here. We would absolutely stay here again. Easy in and out. Finally, please, PLEASE...if you are in a vehicle needing to throw trash in the dumpsters at the exit, please park in front of the dumpsters. Some woman decided to park at the exit and took her time throwing trash away which held us up and another RV from leaving. I just don't know what she was thinking.

This campground is immaculate! Both the grounds and the facilities are spotless. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. The pool is crystal clear but can be a bit crowded at times. There are a myriad of activities for the kids to keep busy. The sites are easy to maneuver in and out. They have a pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings that is delicious as well as economical ($8 for two HUGE pancakes with sausage or bacon). We camped in a 32’ travel trailer with two grandchildren (ages 8 & 6) and we all loved it! Highly recommend this campground for families.

We've stayed in several KOA's and this one was the best by far! Sites were spacious, well maintained and well set up; it was easy to maneuver our fifth wheel around the campground, into our site and out when it was time to leave. It was quiet, clean, the activity staff was friendly and well-spoken - just a pleasure to camp here! Highly recommend it for a night, a weekend, or longer!!

We had a great time here! Stayed for a month and enjoyed the cabin and rv campsite. Plenty of room to walk around and enjoy a nice nature trial. Kids had fun on the jumping pad!

We have stayed here many times and love this place. The green grass, large sites with patios and beautiful pond are always welcome after a long days drive. Another bonus is my husband always orders pizza so I don’t have to cook.

On our way from Indiana to the Badlands in South Dakota, we stopped at the Des Moines KOA in Iowa for one night. Since we were just looking for a place to sleep, we didn’t get to take full advantage of all the amenities available. However, we were impressed by the delivery menu—while I don’t recall any healthy options (mostly pizza and maybe wings), it was nice to have the convenience, and the prices were affordable. After we arrived (I believe it was a Saturday evening), we heard music coming from the front of the KOA—possibly a live singer or mini-concert. There were lots of happy people, and plenty of kids riding go-karts and bikes between the parked RVs. Some might not appreciate the lively atmosphere, but if you have kids, this place could be a vacation destination in itself! There’s a pool, a huge bounce pad, bike and go-kart rentals, a fishing spot, live performances, and food. It really sounds like a great family spot. For my husband and me, who were just looking for a quiet place to rest, it was perfect as well.

The Newton KOA made us feel like family! The second we arrived, we were greeted by the owners who were so happy for us to be there. Every staff member that we interacted with was very helpful and engaging. They wanted campers to have a great experience and it showed. We were not at a loss of things to do at this KOA; swimming, disc golf, the jumping pad, and live entertainment every Thursday. The campground was exceptionally clean, sites were spacious the grounds well kept, and the showers were A+. We especially love how easy it was to access the KOA, right off I 80. Just down the road was a Walmart, another bonus! Thank you so much for making our family feel so welcomed, we can’t wait to return! Chris & Morgan - The Live Out Loud Family
