I have a client renting a camper off of me and I delivered it here. A nice campsites for someone that's just looking to have a campsite. Not real tree but it does have some trees. They're just a newer campground but it hasl a very relaxing setting. I would say it's more adult friendly and it is dog friendly and they have barbecue at sites. They also have a bar and grill gas station, propane filling tank area and very close to a lot of things to do in door county. So if you're looking for a place to stay, that's a little on the quieter side and a place to lay your head to explore door county during the day. This would be highly recommended for you.

This was our second consecutive year staying here. The pull through site was spacious and close to the dog walk. The store was convenient and stocked with useful items. The restuarant had good food and allowed us a night off from cooking. The owners are friendly and helpful.

Yeah, not sharing the love of this RV Park. It’s obvious that the owner tried hard to build an RV park with little knowledge of the industry. Our sewer connection was at the highest point of the lot and the pipe was another 10” above that, a pain to drain the hoses. It was not a dog friendly park, half the park is prohibited from any dogs, although the rules were not followed. The dog run was uncut and narrow-no way to pass other dogs. The whole campground was all gravel and super dusty. Very little shade since the park is new, the trees they planted will provide some shade in 10-15 years. The grass was really long when we checked in for the week and they cut around us, so if you want your site mowed, call the office. They have a restaurant, but no outdoor area, again not dog friendly, but all the towns are! The 2 stars are for the staff in the gas station, (where you check in), very friendly. It’s in a great location and our site was level, except for the area where the sewer pipe was located. There are many good choices in Door County, do your homework!

I stayed here with a small trailer for 3 nights during the last week in May, 2025. The campground had many open sites. Cost: ~$60 per night for a back-in on gravel. Location: ~1.5 mi. from Sister Bay, WI. Amenities: Gas station & camping supplies on-site, seasonal bar/grill. Condition: Relatively new campground so no significant wear & tear yet. Biking/Walking: Nothing intentional. Remarks: This campground could easily be above average with a little more Feng Shui in campground design and thoughtfulness in creating a pleasant camper experience. The showers are all way too cramped, even the handicapped. E.g., the basic shower stall is ~2.5 feet square. The bathhouse lights are on a timer that detects motion in the common area, set obviously for the quick moving young & agile who do everything in a fraction of the time of an elderly, somewhat impaired vet. BTW, there's no veteran or senior discount here. There appears to be a heater for the bathhouse but no way or nobody to adjust it. Of course, this is not a problem for those who don't mind showering in 45-50° air temps. A camper shouldn't have to inform the staff when TP has to be replenished. Responsible campers expect basic campground rules to be enforced. E.g., travelers with dogs shouldn't be assigned a site among the spots for non-dog owners. Not everyone can simply tune out next door yipyip and woof. There's more, but 'nuf said. A generous rating would be almost 3 out of 5, but sometimes rounding up can't be justified.

Stayed a month last August and it was great. Plan on putting my RV there for the entire season. Perfect base camp to see all of Door County. Friendliest of staff and very, very clean.

Great staff and very clean and nice camp ground close to everything. Have stayed twice in the last 30 days for total of eight days. Tammy at the front desk was very nice and informative about the area, on our first trip which caused us to come back with grandkids for Egg Harbor pumpkin feast. Feast was a great time. Thank you Tammy for info on it. Tammy is the best!!

Stayed here for a week in the later part of July. Would Highly recommend it to anyone looking to camp in the northern part of the Door peninsula. Spacious campgrounds plenty of room for a boat if you’re bringing one. Great camp store with miscellaneous stuff great location close to sister bay. Ownership was very kind and helpful. Rest of the staff were all great as well.

Don’t waste your money I have stayed at hundreds of campgrounds across the country and Dovetail is the worst I’ve ever stayed at. While the back in sites are long, there’s no privacy anywhere on the grounds what so ever. You are practically on top of your neighbor. The whole area smelled like sewage. The other campers were incredibly rude and don’t even bother with the owners. They’ll just insult you to your face. Some people shouldn’t be in the business or working with people. They have restricted breeds of dogs as well, but don’t worry, they’ll make sure you’re next to a camper full of aggressive, off leash, and barking 24/7 chihuahuas. The bath house is nice, but be prepared for others to see you completely naked due to the lake of privacy. There’s also no where to leave your clothes or bath items without them getting soaking wet. Like I said, don’t waste your money unless you like don’t like your privacy, smelling like sewage, and getting insulted by the owners.

Great campground! It’s private so and new so not a lot of trees or privacy, but the sites are level, there are full hookups and the shower house is so nice!! Owners were friendly and there is a free shuttle to and from Sister Bay on Thursday/Fri/Sat nights! Highly recommend.

Great place to camp in an RV or tent. It’s very new and the grass is still coming in so many sites are dirt with a few weeds. The back in sites are longer than the pull through sites. There is an area for campers with pets which is separate from no pet area. The check in needs a lot of improvements. Currently, the sign says to check in at the store/gas station in the front but the clerk had no idea how to do it and told us to do it online. All RV sites have full hook ups. The tent sites had water and electricity (and were just adorable). The price was $45 per night and well worth it. Easy to find location near Sister Bay.
