Driftwood RV Park

Overview

Driftwood RV Park offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere nestled among the mature oak trees of Alabama’s beautiful Eastern Shore. This park is widely known for its peaceful environment and heavily shaded campsites that provide a welcome break from the intense Southern sun. Unlike the high-energy coastal resorts found further south, this location focuses on providing a natural and simple setting for travelers who want to experience the authentic charm of Fairhope without the noise of high-traffic tourist zones. The park maintains a community feel that captures the slow-paced essence of coastal Alabama living.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of downtown Fairhope along the scenic corridor of Mobile Bay, the park is surrounded by stately live oaks draped in classic Spanish moss. It sits in a prime position for those wanting to explore the coastal heritage and historic architecture of the region. The proximity to Scenic Highway 98 allows for easy access to the waterfront and the Eastern Shore Trail, where cool breezes from the bay create a refreshing atmosphere for walkers and cyclists alike. The surrounding neighborhood is residential and quiet, offering a sense of seclusion while remaining close to modern conveniences.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed for both convenience and comfort, offering several essential features for the modern RVer to enjoy a stress-free stay:

  • Full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp service for all rig types.
  • Spacious pull-through and back-in sites designed to accommodate slide-outs.
  • Clean laundry services and a well-maintained bathhouse on-site.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi access to help travelers stay connected.

The layout emphasizes the natural landscape, ensuring every guest enjoys the canopy of trees that makes this park a local favorite for those avoiding the concrete pads of larger commercial parks.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

A short drive leads directly into the heart of downtown Fairhope, which is famous for its vibrant floral displays, art galleries, and unique boutiques. Visitors can spend a relaxing afternoon at the Fairhope Municipal Pier or explore the historic grounds of the Grand Hotel in nearby Point Clear. For nature enthusiasts, the surrounding area offers numerous public bay access points for watching world-class sunsets, as well as several local golf courses and fresh seafood dining options that define the Baldwin County lifestyle. The park also serves as a great jump-off point for day trips to the Gulf of Mexico beaches.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for mature travelers and retirees who appreciate a quiet, established community over a busy resort-style playground with swimming pools and loud activities. It is also well-suited for digital nomads looking for a shaded, calm workspace near the water. If you prefer a slow-paced lifestyle and the opportunity to engage with the local culture of a small coastal town, Driftwood RV Park serves as the perfect home base for your Alabama adventure. It is especially welcoming to those with large rigs who prioritize easy access and natural shade.

nasty, ran down. unprofessional owners and maintenance men. Stay far away. You’d be better off camping in Walmart parking lot

nasty bath house, location is not on the bay where it’s made to seem. Far away from everything. Terrible money hungry owners who shove all profit into pockets and don’t care about condition of campground

Truly the nastiest and most run down campground I’ve ever parked my camper. Prices constantly changed from day one until the day we left. They have ONE bathroom for more than 40+ campers to use and share. The bathroom is not cleaned. The showers have not been scrubbed one time since parking here. The shower curtain itself is yellow and nasty. The bathroom is roach and bug infested. We were told moving in they were renovating another but after talking to long term residents, they have been saying that for about two years. This leaves residents fighting over bathroom time and space because they are not able to use the amenities they pay for. The washers put off a god awful smell and barely work. $3.50 to wash your clothes for them to come out smelling like mildew and mold. The “dog park” is a tiny fenced in area INFESTED with mosquitoes, they could care less and refuse to spray. The grass never being cut also doesn’t help with the bugs. Today as I’m leaving, the grass and weeds are up to my knee. They are very unprofessional, management and the owners. I did not get any paper work upon moving in or sign any type of contracts. It is nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. You also get charged for wifi that doesn’t even reach to connect to your tv. There is one nosey maintenance man who will be all up in your business and go out of his way to say rude things about water being on the bathroom floor. NEWSFLASH if y’all put a little bit of the money you’re receiving each month back into your campground instead of being selfish and shoving every drop of profit into your pockets, this could be a decent place. Greedy owners who don’t care anything about anyone but themselves.

Want to start this off by saying there are new owners and yea ....anyways....Me and family have lived here for a little over a yr. At first it was nice and quiet everything included minus power so rent was 450 and power varies. While living here nothing has ever been done minus getting mail boxes that can't even be used. So they took it down and now is asking for 520 for nothing new. There is a business being built in the front but that does nothing for anyone here. All that is around are of course campers/RV and land just wide open which you can walk your dogs and stuff but nothing crazy. You also now have to pay your own cable which use to be in the all included part. There is a bar across the street amd a restaurant down the road near a DG other than that there is nothing more here. When we email the manager of the place about anything we get no response. It sucks because this place is nice and the people are wonderful but I just don't understand what extra we are paying for when it's the same as a yr ago.

Very nice place to stay if you are checking out the town of fairhope. They do have people who are living there but very friendly and you don’t even know they are there. They are fixing to renovate and add more spaces for travelers. The manager was very nice and accommodating and shared things to do in fairhope. I would definitely stay again when I visit in the future

I absolutely loved it at first! But... Now there are new owners! (Bay RV Park) If you have any bully/ pit breed. Forget it! I was given a week to either get rid of my dogs, which is definitely not happening! or to find a different RV park. Not to mention there is nothing around here to begin with, there is a tavern across the street called the lucky horse that is never open! so if you're looking for a place where it takes you half an hour to get to a grocery store. This would be it!

Easy in/out registration- never met owners, did everything by phone/text. Grounds cut, level and kept, laundry and bathhouse very clean! Common area picnic tables/BBQ. Pull thru sites make it easy to set up. Good WiFi and water pressure. Cons- no picnic tables or burn pits at sites, cement patios would be a plus. Some trees need trimming. Overall great place- would definitely stay here again!!
