Situated near the small community of Kyburz, California, the park sits at an elevation that ensures cooler temperatures during the peak of summer. We took a random camping trip this past weekend and found a favorite campsite to add to our list. It's a smaller campsite with really clean bathrooms. The camp hosts are absolutely amazing. They were so welcoming when we arrived and took my boyfriend on a tour of the grounds. We stayed from Friday to Monday. Even though Highway 50 is very close, all the other great finds on the campground make the stay worth while.

Aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful view of the river. As the river's water flow decreases the road noise is more apparent and irritating. Some sites have so much litter I feel like I'm staying in a garbage dump.

It wasn't too bad, other than being right next to the highway and the lack of shade and water access. You're right near a stream with rapids. But to get down to it, you either have to walk really far or climb down big rocks. And either way, there are a good amount of boulders to climb on in and out of the water. If that's your thing, then definitely check it out. If you perfer being able to walk into the water and have your stuff on flat land, check out another place. The people who manage it are extremely nice and check on the camp grounds throughout the day.

Super nice campground that is clean and well kept. Beautiful creek and super kind camp host. It is $36 for a single camp site.

Absolutely loved this little gem of a camp ground along the river! Beautiful setting, right off hwy 50, and was free! As a solo female with my dog and cat felt totally safe! There were a few other camps set up but not crowed. I just wanted to get a little rest before driving more, would definitely come back to stay longer next time. The sites are equipped with picnic tables, grill, and fire pit. There was a toilet but seemed to be locked during the morning when I was there.

So nice I love how the camp host this year extended the time from when they close this year. Until October except September. Lovely experience

Awesome little campground! Camp host was super friendly. Pit toilet was exceptionally clean, fresh spring water was amazing! And the river nearby was the icing on the cake!

Beautiful place to camp. The river was so relaxing and wonderful just looking at it. Came in Friday morning about 11, had 3 choices to fit our 35ft 5th W right up next to river. Host was very pleasant and helpful, wish I had gotten her name. Bathrooms clean and many of them, there's even a dump station! Would come here again for sure!

Nice small campground right off of Hwy 50 in Kyburz. Most of the campsites are right next to the river. The bathrooms are relatively clean but the toilets are outhouse style and do not flush. There are no shower facilities so you're really roughing it unless you have an RV. Bring insect repellent as the mosquitoes and other insects are plentiful. The couple that run the campground do a nice job of maintaining it

Sweet spot right off the 50...
