Elmwood Self Storage has now partnered with StorSmart Insurance. StorSmart Insurance has horrible reviews and is a very difficult company to deal with. When I first rented with Elmwood I looked into insurance with StorSmart and decided to go with my own insurance company. Many local insurance companies extend insurance to their customers for off site insurance as part of the coverage you already pay for. For some reason Elmwood has now made it a requirement for new customers to purchase insurance through StorSmart and will not accept personal coverage from your insurance company. I will be moving my contents to another storage company down the road whom is more affordable and better customer service and accepts the insurance extension provided by the customers carrier. I don’t like this practice where the owners of Elmwood Storage are “manipulating” higher fees for something you already have.

I have stored wine at Elmwood for the the last 6 years and my experience has been terrific. Melanie has always been super helpful and responsive! I recently had a very complex logistics issue arise and she was very resourceful and willing to work with me to expedite the move. In short, Melanie is great and the rest of the staff is as well! Highly recommended!

I feel secure and safe here when I go to drop things off, it is always clean and there are always carts. The only problem I have is not being able to profit from the doors in order to get the carts through when I am there by myself. However I understand the safety feature of the Auto closing doors.

(Update 02/10/2020) It's been awhile since I posted a review of this facility. This place is still going strong and always tries to add new services to help their customers. I am still a customer and have to say that Melanie always makes me feel right at home whenever I visit. If you haven't had the chance to check it out, please do so and be sure to ask for Melanie! Friendly, helpful staff; large facility with lots to offer; easy access; very clean and secure. I highly recommend Elmwood Self Storage & Wine Cellar. Update (05/05/2017): It's been a year since I left the above review and I have to say this facility is still great! The staff is friendly, courteous, kind and very knowledgeable. They always great you with a smile. I am always impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, especially considering it is a very large facility. If you have the chance to tour the wine storage area it is very impressive. They also offer safe deposit boxes that will rival any bank in the area. Many sizes to choose from and the rates are very competitive.
