Clean Slate Dirty Tires

Most KOA's are right off the highway. This one is pushed back just far enough to be nice and quiet. We've workamped for KOA and stayed at many in our travels. This one is ranked pretty high. They even have stables! Sites are pretty level. For a KOA the sites in the woodline are spaced out and roomy. Cost per night was great too! We will be staying again for sure!

Gotta say, I was blown away with this camp. We stayed In a cabin, which really helped manage two kids. The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. The whole camp itself was clean, well managed and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The pool was clean and had a really cool slide. Above all else, we were there for their off season Halloween night… what an absolute treat. The people (I should say family) who ran this really put their hearts and souls into the very fun performance; it was hilarious, wholesome and had a nice light scare to it. I really applauded them for going the extra mile to entertain the families with something fun. Really left a great impression on me, and I can’t wait to go back. I’ll never forget “Stinky Pete”, who “smells worse than a north-bound skunk” If you’re wondering if you’ll like this place, you won’t, you’ll love it.

Large KOA campsite We got a site in the woods that was dirty with dog droppings and it took a while until we got a response from the office and we moved to another open site but clean and quiet. There is a quarry next to the campsite so in the morning you hear the beep beep of the heavy equipment, not very disturbing. Overall for overnight parking with a caravan it was fine

This is a really nice KOA. My only complaint is that we are next to a sand quarry or something and there is incessant industrial beeping that starts at 7am sharp and apparently continues all day. The campground itself is nice with nice lodging options and clean bath houses. I’m looking forward to an upcoming trip here on a weekend and hopefully won’t have to listen to loud high pitched beeping all day. I would not come back during the week for this reason. If it’s something that happens on weekends as well, I likely won’t be back. It’s just not relaxing to hear construction noise all day. Staff are nice. Gift shop is adorable… it’s unfortunate that it’s not peaceful during day.

The owner, Robert Lane, is a miserable human being that hates running a campground. I've been living at this campground for 9 months and just finally had a visitor for the first time and after 6 days of her being here he told me her dog isn't welcome here because it barks. It's a dog... My camper has been under construction since I bought it and while he was telling me I can't have a guest with a dog he also told me I'm not allowed to use any power tools. So now I'm forced to live in a mess with no place to put anything. There are campers on every side of me who have dogs and use power tools as well. The guy in the site directly beside me came here with an unfinished Tiny Home and works on it daily and also has a dog. I would not recommend staying at this campground, EVER!

This was our first trip to Maine and we decided to camp at the last minute. We were able to book a site and have found the managers totally friendly and helpful. I feel like they went the extra mile to meet what ever needs we had. We will be back for sure.

This KOA is rated mediocre compared to most of the KOAs we've stayed at. A couple of suggestions ~ The entire campground was pitch black at night. A street light by the restrooms and one by the entrance to the campground would be nice. The road could stand to have a load of gravel hauled in to repair the deep potholes, an easy fix considering there is a gravel pit on the way in to the campground. Our campsite was a nice back in amongst the trees. Sure it served its purpose but with a few touch ups it would get a 5 star rating.

As my wife and I normally do, we stayed in one of the Rustic, Primitive or Basic (identified differently by each KOA) cabins. We loved the location of the cabin in the midst of tall trees and facing the trees. The cabin had a large window (a first for us having stayed in 55 such KOA cabins) at the back which was great for viewing and letting the light in. It was easy to open and to lock. The cabin was great. The walk to either bathroom/shower facility was reasonable. The newer facility was impressive with individual showers plus the larger part with 4 sinks and stools. All were cleaned well. The reason I didn't rate this KOA with a 5 is the condition of the roads which had giant holes and ruts filling and remaining partially full of water any time it rained. This KOA has horses that can be ridden, a nice playground and pool, so it has much to offer with fairly wide RV sites also. But drainage and road conditions need some attention.

Great camping experience. We found Paul and his staff ready and able to make us happy. My grandson is wheel chair bound and loved visiting the horses, ponies and donkeys very calming. The whole staff was wonderful.
