Fuller Campground (Delta County Park)
Overview
Fuller Campground is a quiet, county-managed gem located along the western shores of Green Bay in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As a Delta County Park, it offers a serene escape from the more crowded commercial resorts often found in the region. This park is characterized by its natural beauty and its direct connection to the water, providing a peaceful environment where the sound of the lake defines the experience. It serves as an excellent, budget-friendly base for exploring the central U.P. shoreline.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Bark River, MI, the campground is positioned at the mouth of the Bark River where it meets the expansive waters of Lake Michigan. The surroundings are largely wooded and undeveloped, offering a high degree of privacy and a strong sense of seclusion. Visitors can enjoy expansive views of the bay and easy access to local coastal ecosystems, making it a prime spot for those who appreciate the rugged, unpolished landscape of northern Michigan.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility features 34 campsites, many of which provide 30-amp electrical hookups to accommodate standard RV needs. However, travelers should note that the park maintains a rustic character, utilizing vault toilets and a hand pump for water rather than a pressurized system or modern bathhouses. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, and the park offers a convenient boat launch and a playground area, making it ideal for self-contained travelers who enjoy a traditional camping lifestyle.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, from boating and fishing on Green Bay to exploring the nearby city of Escanaba. The Island Resort & Casino is just a short drive away for those seeking entertainment, gaming, or diverse dining options. Nature lovers can head to the Hiawatha National Forest for hiking or visit the historic Sand Point Lighthouse. The area is also well-regarded for bird watching during migration seasons along the scenic coastline.
Who This Park Is Best For
This campground is ideal for self-contained RVers who prefer a natural, low-key atmosphere over high-density amenities. It is a perfect fit for boaters and anglers who want immediate water access without the premium price tag of a commercial resort. Travelers looking for a rustic Upper Peninsula experience will appreciate the quiet nights and the simplicity of this park, making it a favorite for those who value scenic views and nature over luxury facilities.

Pretty nice place. Make sure you stay on the side with the boathouse. It’s about .25 mile walk between both sides

A nice park. The only complaints I would mention, it was hard to find my campsite due to inadequate maps, and don't arrive early because they keep the road closed until check in time at 3pm. The booking website could have been better.

Great place right on Lake Michigan! Huge water & electric only sites. Sparkling clean facilities. Camp host is wonderful.

Man this place is beautiful. I got a spot backed right up to the lake. Could hear .the waves lapping all night. The on site hosts were very pleasant. I never got into the bathhouse, so I can't comment. I stayed here 2 nights, about a week apart. It was halfway between home and a jeep meet I attended on drummond island

We unfortunately found this gem of a camping spot too late to get both nights of enjoyment. We were lucky enough to by chance find this place and get a lakeside spot!! Gorgeous view from the beach, with a picnic table, electric hookup, water hookup and fire pit. Had to walk or drive to shower/laundry. Everywhere was clean and the manager(s) were very kind and helpful. We are coming back for sure! The only reason for the 4 star review is, the sites are very close.

Decent campground with clean bathroom and grounds. Compared to other campgrounds in the area the layout and lack of privacy wasn't what we were used to. No trees, just park your camper next to the next guy. Nice people running the place.

One of our best campsites !! On Lake Michigan. Backs up to the beach. Feels so private. Dinner on the beach . Campfire tonight. Level site. Water and electric (not needed... Temps in the 60's) Showers are large and clean as are the bathrooms and laundry is available. And 4G cell service with Verizon.

This is a better country park with very nice views of Lake Michigan. This place has a small dayuse area with beach access. This place had a small walking trail and very nice bathrooms/showers. There was separate campgrounds along the beach that were a tad cramped in the middle units. Must be a popular place because the two campgrounds were packed.
