Great camping weekend at G&R campground. The cabins were cozy with modern features such as Heat/AC, personal bathroom, small kitchen space, eating table, two full size beds, and basic cable TV.

Came out this way for the Delaware State Fair. Got a spot (site 145) tucked back in the woods here. There are locals in trailers at the back sites of the park, which was kind of a detractor for charm in hopes of being a little more in the sticks, but had no real issues. Some late night chatter, but was running the camper AC anyways. Super neat is the little bar/restaurant which had a small crowd but big crowd happy vibe. Sang karaoke, played music bingo - that was cool. Even though there were only a few folks around, the waiter was super polite and professional. Really appreciated that. Came to find out a couple days later that it was the new owner! Servant leadership right there. Pool appeared very well-kept, as did the rest of the grounds. Also, they had a basketball at the basketball court, and a cornhole setup (missing a couple bags, but made due). I will say the RV sites could use some gravel as the ground was soft and a rainstorm dictated the need to readjust the stabilizers after settling, but minor inconvenience. I did smell chicken country, and it hit us pretty hard, but it didn't linger around the whole time. You'll be fine.

We booked all the cabins and a few more spots for a family reunion. An yes, we all had a very nice time. The only problem my wife and I had was getting locked out our room in cabin 11. The key didn't work so we had to keep using the combination pad to get in. The pool was nice for the family and the rooms were nice. We did our own cooking for the entire family for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kids went on a few hiking trails near by. A quiet and nice place to relax and enjoy time with our family. I would definitely do this again. We booked 3 days for our family reunion and enjoyed every minute of our time here. We sure did make our cabin feel more like home for our 3 grandchildren. Even got the bounce house here for them. To keep my Grandchildren busy. We truly enjoyed our stay. We wish we could have met the owners of this establishment. 👏👏👏

Affordable, friendly, caring campground. It's more like 45 minutes to Lewes, compared to the cartoon bear campground's 30 minutes, but price was less than half & staff actually cares. Sites are large and offer mature shade trees. I felt safe. And it was so QUIET. No golf cart races & shrieking crying kids at midnight. They have a nice pool, safe roads for bicycling, basketball court, and other games. There's a big hall for events. They even were hosting a classic car show when we arrived. I so wanted to give 5 stars, but their neighbors are unbearable. It is surrounded by massive poultry industrial farms. First day was ok, but then wind direction changed. It's not just "ew stinky", it was making me cough & eyes water. Imagine a sour-manure rotten-animal odor that you never get quite used to. The state of Delaware has really let its residents & tourists down by catering to the chicken corporations. I had the opportunity to meet the owner who seemed to really care about my experience and on having a nice campground. The other guests we encountered were all nice. Bath houses were older, but it looked like the newer owner was working on improving them. Pool was well maintained. Store was nice. You can tell they tried hard to display things attractively. My only frustration was in making reservations. The number i called always went straight to voice-mail, and by afternoon still no call back. The online reservation site was ok but it didn't allow same day reservations and sometimes the site is down. If air quality could be improved, we'd visit there regularly.

My family booked a tent site here for a few days. We usually camp in our tent but we didn’t realize how brutally hot it was going to be and our dog could not handle the heat. We went down to the office and the staff was so sweet and accommodating. We were able to switch our reservation to a cabin that had all the amenities for our bougie pup. We enjoyed the board game room that also had ac. We also got to hop in the pool that was really well kept. Overall we had such and great time and will probably come back for another visit.

G&R was a great place to enjoy a relaxing weekend with a good camp fire with perfect weather. Their staff was nice and hospitable from the when we checked into their camp office/store. We appreciated our quiet and shaded campsite. All our hookups worked fine and we had plenty of places to take our dog on a walk. The kids enjoyed their new playground (wasn’t there last time). All in all … definitely recommend for all who want a nice quiet campground.
