Nice clean place. Close to a nice boat ramp. Not too many places to keep a boat with your camper. Hard to tell on satellite view. We booked a spot we thought had a nice place to keep our other car and boat, but it was a huge hill.

This is a very clean state park campground. The camp hosts we talked with were very friendly and informative. The shower house we used was always clean and in good order. The showers have temperature control and always on controls. They are not push button timed. Many of the sites have good spacing but the sites basically up the middle are very close together. Beware that some sites are definitely not great for large units. The boat ramp is very nice and provides great access to the lake. We were told that during prime season the ramp parking often gets extremely crowded and requires the use of both overflow lots. That would be quite the hike to and from the ramp! The ramp is at least five trailers wide so as long as everyone knows how to back up a boat trailer, the turnover should be pretty quick. It's a long boat run to the dam from this point, like over 53 miles by water, or over 100 miles round trip. This was our first trip to Lake Cumberland but we're likely to go back next season and will likely camp here again.

This small island surrounded by lake Cumberland is beautiful and rich with history of this area long ago. Great place to drive around and enjoy the huge old trees. There's lots of great picnic areas to enjoy, some of them are just a short walk from the car to beautiful secluded picnic tables available to enjoy a meal or Great scenery. Theres also a camp ground on the island for all types of camping with info and staff available to help you. The golf course on the island offers a amazing course with unbelievable views of Lake Cumberland. They also have a great boat launching area with easy access and great parking for your car and boat trailers. Great place for a peaceful drive and also some great places to explore in the woods.
