Ginny-B Campground

Overview

Ginny-B Campground offers a classic Rhode Island camping experience nestled in the quiet woods of Foster. This family-owned and operated facility has been welcoming travelers for decades, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park maintains a careful balance between traditional rustic camping and essential modern conveniences, making it a reliable choice for those seeking a slower pace of life in New England. With its tall trees and community-centric atmosphere, it serves as a serene backdrop for creating lasting travel memories.

Location & Surroundings

Located in the rural heart of western Rhode Island, the campground is surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills. The property is characterized by its natural landscape and towering trees, providing ample shade and privacy for most sites. Its position along the Danielson Pike allows for easy access while maintaining a sense of seclusion from major highways. Travelers will appreciate the proximity to the Connecticut border, offering a gateway to both states' scenic backroads, quaint small towns, and sprawling agricultural landscapes that define the region.

Amenities & Park Features

The centerpiece of the campground is the spring-fed swimming pond, which features a sandy beach area for relaxing on warm summer days. For those who enjoy active recreation, the park includes a large recreation hall, a softball field, and dedicated courts for basketball and volleyball. The facility provides essential services including:

  • Water and electric hookups at various RV sites
  • A convenient on-site dumping station
  • Clean restroom and shower facilities
  • A playground and horseshoe pits for family fun

Families often gather at the communal spaces to participate in organized park activities and weekend events during the peak season.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the park feels remote, it is conveniently located within a short drive of several regional highlights. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the nearby Jerimoth Hill, Rhode Island's highest point, or visit various state management areas for hiking and bird watching. For a change of pace, the vibrant city of Providence is roughly 30 minutes away, offering world-class dining and cultural sites like WaterFire. Additionally, the famous casinos and entertainment complexes of southeastern Connecticut are within a manageable driving distance for those seeking an evening of excitement.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is an ideal match for families seeking a traditional camping trip where the focus is on outdoor play and shared activities. It appeals to RVers who prefer a quiet, wooded environment over a high-traffic resort atmosphere. Because of its spacious layout and community-focused amenities, it is also a great choice for multi-generational vacations and group gatherings. If you value a peaceful night under the stars and a friendly, local vibe, Ginny-B Campground provides a welcoming home base for your Rhode Island adventure.

DO NOT GO! This place is a party campground with drunks staying up till 2 or 3 am with loud music and yelling. There are no such things as quiet hours, so no one ever settles down. If you are a family with kids, they won't be safe, all these drunks who seem to all know each other all have golf carts that they drive around all day while drinking and continue to drive after drinking all night.... My family has been camping all over New England for 15 years, and this is the first time I have ever decided not to go back to a campground. DO NOT GO It's unsafe and a drunk party all day and all night.

Our 2 night stay was nothing less than perfect ! Driving into the campground , the land is very clean and beautiful! The place feels right at home ! Our family used to camp there when it was Ginny B’s and the new owners have done an amazing job with the campground. We had a tent site in the 150’s and the land was perfect! Sunny during the day and shade at night.Everyone was so friendly ! The he bathroom/showers were just about a 2 min walk from our campsite. Showers and bathrooms were spotless and clean! Nice hot, strong running water in shower! We went to the meat raffle held at the adult rec hall on Saturday night and it was a total hit! The campers are truly a great crowd and the regulars are so funny and welcoming! We also went fishing and caught some bass and pickerel ! (We obviously threw them back in the water) Very kid friendly and adult friendly. Highly recommended for a great time!

Noisy, tons of "forever" seasonal renters who live like this is their backyard dump. It's a shame because this area is next to a pretty nice golf course. Rental sites are not manicured, but the front office staff were extremely friendly.

We stayed a week, and will be coming back as much as possible! The community feeling and the people are amazing. This is where you want to bring your family, it's a family oriented campground. Tons of fun activities for kids and adults. It's beautiful with the Moosup river running through it, a fishing hole and beach. Highly recommend! Oh and the new owners are great people! We feel very safe and comfortable here with our little kids!!

Quiet location next to a public golf course with a good restaurant. Friendly staff. More than 50% seasonal campers, but a number of good short stay campsites. Orchards and a vineyard nearby.

Nice location. A little confusing and hard to get too but once you get there its a peaceful park. Mask are required to enter the office. The store or swimming area was not open when we were there. Nice bathrooms and clean!

We averged $42 / night for W/E50. Our sunny, grass, back-in site had a nice pond on driver side but nearby neighbors on the passenger side. The site was very level. We visited many of the sites in Newport (about 1 hour) including the Tennis Hall of Fame, The Breakers, Marblehouse, The Cliff Walk, and drive along Ocean Drive. Spectacular scenery. We also visited beautiful Rogers Williams Park in Providence (about 45 minutes).

I love this place. Family friendly campground. It's quiet and really enjoyable. There is a lake, a little family store, showers, laundry and they have dances for the kids. By far, my favorite campground

Nice, quiet open field. We had 26 rigs and room for at least 6 more! Huge CG and loads of campers, but not much noise because they are spread out all over!!

We just got back into camping after a 25 year gap and we are very pleased with Ginny B for seasonal camping. The other campers are very friendly, our site is large and wooded. No cable but we use a Fire Stick w/ hot spot. Pond does have alot of leaves on the bottom but hopefully that will get better as people use the water.
