Glen Ayr Resort

Overview

Glen Ayr Resort offers a unique opportunity to camp directly on the shores of the scenic Hood Canal. As a long-standing destination in the Pacific Northwest, this park combines the rugged beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with comfortable resort amenities. Visitors are treated to unobstructed waterfront views and a sense of tranquility that only comes from being steps away from the saltwater. Whether you are arriving in a large motorhome or a smaller travel trailer, the park serves as a well-maintained basecamp for exploring the natural wonders of Washington State.

Location & Surroundings

Located just north of the charming town of Hoodsport, WA, the resort is perfectly positioned where the mountains meet the sea. The Hood Canal provides a stunning backdrop, known for its deep waters and diverse marine life. The surrounding area is characterized by towering evergreens and the nearby peaks of the Olympic Mountain Range. Because the resort sits on the inland side of the Olympic Peninsula, guests enjoy a milder climate and convenient access to both saltwater activities and high-elevation alpine trails.

Amenities & Park Features

The resort is designed to provide a comfortable stay with a variety of onsite facilities. RV travelers can utilize full hookup sites that include water, sewer, and electricity. One of the standout features is the private guest dock and beach, which is ideal for launching kayaks or simply enjoying the sunset. For relaxation, the resort offers an enclosed heated pool and a hot tub, allowing for year-round enjoyment. The clubhouse serves as a social hub, featuring a billiards room and space for groups to gather after a day of adventure.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Adventure seekers will find plenty to do within a short drive of the resort. The Staircase entrance to Olympic National Park is nearby, offering world-class hiking trails along the Skokomish River. The Hood Canal is also a premier destination for scuba diving and clamming, with several renowned dive sites like Sund Rock just minutes away. In town, you can visit local boutiques, enjoy fresh seafood, or spend an afternoon at the Hoodsport Winery to sample regional flavors.

Who This Park Is Best For

Glen Ayr Resort is an ideal match for travelers who prioritize waterfront access and scenic beauty. It is particularly well-suited for boaters, divers, and kayakers who want to take advantage of the private dock. Families and couples looking for a peaceful resort atmosphere will appreciate the clean facilities and recreational amenities. Excellent experience, staff is 1st class, bathrooms, showers, and hottub is very clean. Best RV site Ive experienced yet, I'd go back just for the friendly helpful staff but it certainly helps with nice game room / lounge / library, hottub, clean bathrooms and shower, beautiful hiking trails, propane for purchase, BBQs, fire pits, Gazebo and all around great rates. Definitely will be back

I was only there for one night but it was nice! I had room #1 for the King bed. Bonus!: it's a corner upstairs room facing the water so no complaints on the view! The waterfront road can be occasionally busy so I recommend earplugs, which I always have, and sleep was uninterrupted. Microwave, counter high refer/freezer and a coffee maker with nice selection. Coffee, tea, chocolate and cider. Very friendly staff! I’ll be back.

This place is amazing! Wedding party and guests almost filled it so all experienced different types of rooms. Basic hotel rooms and suites, house on hill and the tiny homes were all fantastic! Very clean spacious most with excellent views and the staff, including the innkeeper, Joaquin, so accommodating, helpful, and friendly. We will definitely stay there again. If the need arises in that area, it will be our number one choice!

Stayed here our last night in Olympic National Park. Eric so kindly coordinated our late night check in and it was seamless. The property is gorgeous, quiet, & clean. We used the hot tub after our long day of hiking and my family and I enjoyed it very much. The room itself was immaculate and so so spacious. In the morning we walked across to the pier and saw a seal and many many oysters along the shore and tide. We hope to return and have some fresh oysters next time.

I stayed in an RV site. It was clean and almost level so I only had to use one block to level my rig. I enjoyed walking down to the dock though crossing the road caused a little wait due to the amount of traffic. The lounge is beautiful with comfortable seating. The staff are very friendly making you feel very welcome. Prices are reasonable. We enjoyed using the gazebo for our potluck. I hope to return again.

Great place but the lady in the office is a bit confusing. I have a special situation. That I explain to everyplace I go. I did that here then my wife got a weird message about her brother causing problems and she finish by saying now I know why your having trouble finding a place to stay not sure what she ment but can't stand people freaking out instead of talking to the person that is concerning them you don't know me or my circumstances and you didn't care enough to ask thanks

Love this hotel! The rooms are reasonable, but clean and the beds are comfortable. It’s a diver’s hotel, which is awesome because they have a washing station and a drying room for your gear. Plus, you can use their showers even after you check out. Will be back!

I'm a diver, and my friends love to stay here when I don't have the room. Their dock is well-maintained, their staff is friendly, and their rates are reasonable. This is a great place to stay.
