Grants Pass KOA Journey

Overview

Grants Pass KOA Journey serves as a welcoming gateway to Southern Oregon’s natural beauty. Positioned among lush pine trees and scenic hills, this park offers a peaceful atmosphere that balances convenience with a true sense of the Pacific Northwest. Whether you are passing through on a long road trip or using it as a basecamp for the Rogue River, the park provides a well-maintained environment designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just north of downtown Grants Pass, the park sits within a forested canyon that helps buffer guests from the noise of the nearby Interstate 5. The surrounding landscape is defined by the Siskiyou Mountains and the famous Rogue River valley. You will find that the park’s layout takes advantage of the natural terrain, offering a shaded retreat that feels much more remote than its accessible location suggests.

Amenities & Park Features

This KOA Journey is equipped with modern essentials to make your stay comfortable. RVers can choose from spacious pull-thru sites with full hookups and 50-amp service to accommodate larger rigs. Guests have access to a seasonal outdoor pool, a clean laundry facility, and a designated K9 Kamp for four-legged travelers. For those who enjoy light activity, the property features nature trails that wind through the trees, providing a convenient way to stretch your legs.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw of the region is the Rogue River, famous for exhilarating jet boat tours and world-class fishing. A short drive takes you to the historic downtown area of Grants Pass, filled with local shops and eateries. For day-trippers, the Oregon Caves National Monument offers subterranean exploration, while the stunning vistas of Crater Lake National Park are within driving distance for a full day of adventure in the Cascades.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is ideal for travelers seeking a high-quality stopover along the I-5 corridor who value a quiet, wooded setting. It caters well to families and pet owners who need reliable amenities like WiFi and a playground. Because of its proximity to major natural landmarks, it is also a great fit for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a comfortable home base while exploring the diverse landscapes and wineries of Southern Oregon.

Rude people. Nice place though. Never really had anyone come at me for driving to my parents site in almost a decade of annual visits. I wasn't going fast was actually in low gear. Didn't check in and treated like a criminal for an honest misunderstanding. Really a shame. Including a pic of a rude passive aggressive note that the front desk lady left for me just so rude I can't say it enough. UPDATE: I have been reading the reviews and most are good, the lady I had a run in with is hurting business though. Chasing people to a bathroom to harass them, lying (which happened with me,) yelling at a gentlemans mother to the point of flinging spit on her, pulling in front of a car with 3 kids in it and yelling at that family, etc. Whomever this is needs to not be allowed to deal with the public in my humble opinion. Not the best representation of KOA service there, especially with the price being so high. Really is a shame.

The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable. The grounds are spotless. Prices are reasonable for full hookups. There is a dog park. Plenty of room for kids to roam. Also, there's a waterfall that's an easy walk to on the property. There's also a store on property. There's a bouncy house, bounce pad and corn hole available. Lots of shade for your R.V., too!

This place was wonderful. Easy on/off freeway. Everything super clean. Water hole was beautiful and cool on a hot summer day. Lots of deer came thru, kids loved it. We made Other camping friends while there. Office staff friendly and helpful.

DON'T stay here. We showed up after hours, and they still wanted us to pay $76. Most KOAs are only $58 during the spring. This KOA is small and loud with barking dogs and loud neighbors. Drive 39 miles further and go to Seven feathers RV Resort. Their Customer's service is stellar. They stay open until 9 pm and have gorgeous sites, an indoor pool, and a Fun casino. We don't gamble but we usually go there for their outstanding breakfast. Did I mention that Seven feathers only charges $2 more dollars than the KOA you hopefully just left.

Called about availability. Told park manager I would come check out the park on my day off. She never mentioned the extreme importance of checking in the office first. Mind you it’s a Sunday afternoon. I’m a koa reward member. Signs say members or guests only. So I figured I could drive in and look at the park. A lady chases us down. Pulled her vehicle in front of our path and blocked us. Got out completely irate and freaked out on me my wife and 3 kids about us trespassing. I wouldn’t stay there if they paid me to do so after this interaction. Completely unprofessional. Park is about 15 min past grants pass.
