Halls Crossing Trailer Village
Overview
Halls Crossing Trailer Village offers a gateway to the remote southeastern shores of Lake Powell. Located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, this park provides a basecamp for those looking to explore the vast red rock canyons and turquoise waters of Utah. It is managed as part of the marina complex, offering a mix of spaces designed specifically for travelers who bring their own adventure gear and seek a rugged, natural setting.
Location & Surroundings
Situated across the water from Bullfrog Marina, the park is surrounded by the striking high-desert landscape of San Juan County. The environment is defined by towering sandstone mesas and the expansive sky. Getting here often involves a scenic drive through the rugged interior of Utah or a ride on the Charles Hall Ferry, which connects the two sides of the lake, making the location feel secluded yet accessible for those exploring the Grand Circle.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is geared toward self-contained travelers, offering full hookups including water, sewer, and electricity to keep your rig comfortable in the desert heat. Guests have access to essential services such as laundry facilities and restrooms with showers, which are vital after a long day on the water. Each site includes a picnic table, while the nearby marina store ensures visitors can restock on ice, fuel, and groceries without leaving the recreation area.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw is undoubtedly Lake Powell, where visitors can engage in boating and fishing for striped bass or walleye. Exploring the winding side canyons by kayak or paddleboard offers a more intimate look at the unique geology of the region. On land, the surrounding desert provides opportunities for photography and primitive hiking. For a unique day trip, taking the vehicle ferry allows travelers to explore the Bullfrog Marina area and its associated trails and visitor centers.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal fit for active outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize access to the water over resort-style luxuries. It appeals strongly to boaters and anglers who need a functional place to park their rig near the docks. Because of its remote nature and exceptionally dark skies, it is also a fantastic choice for stargazers and desert photographers seeking a quiet environment far away from the light pollution of major cities.
