We visited Hamlin Beach State Park just for the beach on Lake Ontario, and it did not disappoint! The park is very clean and well-organized with plenty of parking, multiple playgrounds, and lots of picnic tables. Lake Ontario itself is stunning, and the beach is easy to enjoy with all the amenities provided. One of the access points had lifeguard stands, first aid, locker rooms, bathrooms, and even outdoor showers to rinse off sand before heading back to the car. The park is open from dawn to dusk, with a small entrance fee during peak hours (9–5 pm). A beautiful and family-friendly spot worth visiting!

First time at Hamlin Beach State Park we were charged $9 for entry on a monday which was pretty outrageous for what is here and the ongoing construction. There’s a lot of beach areas, a campground, recreational areas, and a small nature trail with an observation deck which is what I liked the most. For a state park it is ok, there’s alot better spots around though. If you like beaches and picnics, this is a good spot - for a price

My family camped at this park for 5 nights in August. Hamlin Beach State park is the most beautiful, we'll kept parks I've ever camped at. We stayed in loop F, site 256. The site was spacious, we had a really good amount of privacy, we were steps away from the bathroom and a water source. There are several playgrounds located near by. All the sites were pretty spacious, some had a bit less room than others and most had some privacy in the form of vegetation between sites. The campground was very well maintained, clean and quiet - except for Saturday when all the kids were up before 7am lol. There is no firewood sold at the park but there are several folks that sell out of their homes in Hamlin and the Dollar General next to Tops in Hamlin has some. We found more than enough to meet our needs. The beach is amazing! The water was very cold, below 60 degrees, but we were able to wade in - too cold to swim! The beach is sandy and spacious, and you can walk the other beaches quite a ways in both directions. The campground is somewhat remote, there are some local restaurants nearby by they are expensive, we paid about $45 for breakfast for 3 and $60 for a lunch of cheeseburgers for 3. Tops is kinda costly but we were able to get everything we needed. The closest Walmart is about 30 minutes. We took a side trip to Niagara Falls, which was only 1.5 hours and the ride was lovely. We really enjoyed our time at Hamlin Beach State Park and are already making plans to return next year!

First time here and it is a beautiful park. There are bathrooms & showers at each loop. There is a nice huge beach area on Lake Ontario with picnic areas. There is a laundromat but it was closed indefinitely ☹️ There is plenty of space with all campsites, some are way too tight for a 40ft fifth wheel and too many low branches. You can look at each site with the Reserve America site and that helps so much. This park is great for couples & families. Come here and stay, you just might want to come back!

Not a bad beach day! Went with my wife, mother in law, and niece. $9 total for entry to the beach for the entire vehicle regardless of how many people inside the car. We arrived at about 11:30 am on a sunny 95° Sunday. There were probably 100 or so people there already, but parking was plentiful and more than enough benches, space, etc. They have a bathroom, showers, and lifeguard station. I noticed a snack shack, too, but it didn't look like it was open. Overall, the beach was clean, and the water was decent. A little chilly still, but we swam regardless for a few hours! Water was a little cloudy in the beginning, but after the first 20 feet or so, the water became almost clear enough to see everything. I was surprised how clean that section of Lake ontario Water was honestly. No violence, no unnecessary loudness besides a few families with loud kids but that's a given anywhere on a beach day. We will return again this year. Much better than Durand and Charlotte.

Absolutely love the times we get to go to Hamlin. There’s just so much you can do. The views are amazing. There’s tons of bike paths and walking paths. The pavilions are great for cooking holding large family get-togethers. The parking lot on the other hand is pretty rough and beat up although the road itself is pretty nice and smooth. The sites are very comfortable. Although I wish they had more sites that were larger. The newer dump station area is great. Could use a little bit more work so it’s less rough going in but overall very nice.

The park is very nice. Plenty of space. Featuring Lake Ontario waterfront. But the $9 (per car) admission price is hard to justify.
