Holiday Campground

Overview

Holiday Campground offers a serene coastal retreat on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Nestled in the heart of Florida’s Forgotten Coast, this park emphasizes a slower pace of life where the scenery takes center stage. Travelers will find a well-maintained facility where the focus is on the stunning waterfront views and easy access to the region’s natural wonders. It is a destination that balances modern comfort with the rustic, authentic charm of a traditional Florida fishing village.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Panacea, the park overlooks the tranquil waters of Dickerson Bay. The surrounding landscape is defined by vast salt marshes and tidal creeks, providing a prime environment for birdwatching and coastal photography. Its location away from major metropolitan hubs ensures dark night skies and a quiet atmosphere for relaxation. Being part of the Big Bend Scenic Byway, the area serves as a gateway to some of the most untouched coastal habitats remaining in the state.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground provides a variety of conveniences designed for modern RVers. Most sites feature level concrete pads and full hookups, including 30 and 50-amp electricity and cable television. On-site amenities include a refreshing swimming pool, clean bathhouses, and a laundry facility to accommodate long-term stays. For those who enjoy the water, the park offers a private fishing pier and boat ramp, making it easy to spend a day on the bay or head out to the gulf waters.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Adventure is never far away, with the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge providing miles of hiking trails and historic lighthouse views just a short drive from the park. Visitors can explore the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab to see local marine life or enjoy fresh local seafood at nearby waterfront eateries. For water enthusiasts, the Ochlockonee River State Park offers excellent kayaking and wildlife spotting, while the white sand beaches of St. George Island are a popular day trip destination.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for anglers and nature lovers who want direct access to Florida’s coastal resources. It appeals to retirees and seasonal travelers seeking a quiet, friendly community for a winter getaway. Campgrounds was clean and nice. Spots are very tight (like literally tripping over your neighbors tight). Probably will not return just for that fact. Location is great, shame they cant get rid of 2 spots and open it up a bit...not like its overly busy.

An established RV campground in a beautiful location with a friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in a waterfront site for two nights and aside from being a bit close to neighboring RVs, it was well worth it for the peaceful, scenic location. Sites are level, crushed rock, not overly difficult to back into with a 31' motorhome. All utilities worked without issue (power, water, sewer and cable). Although available, I did not try WiFi. Highly recommend this park right on the water.

Absolutely beautiful location! Friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are very clean and shower water was super hot and roomy in the stall. Pool temperature was PERFECT. Absolutely recommend spending some time here. Very special place.

Sites are very close together. Gravel roads and sites are also a negative. The campground is kept clean, bathhouse is air conditioned and clean and pool area is nice. Pool area could use some covered space or umbrellas to get out of the sun.

Perfect, just Perfect. Great views, the cleanest restrooms we have ever seen at a campground by far! Jazmine and her staff do an amazing job of welcoming you to their little slice of heaven. The gulf is 2.8 miles away and a nice park with old Florida vibes, not condos and hotels, just sand and saw grass. We will return soon!

Absolutely stunning campgrounds. Bathrooms are updated and are beautiful. The sunsets over the water are gorgeous and there’s plenty of fire pits for everyone. There is a small pool which is kept pristinely clean. Everyone in the front office was sweet and had the best recommendations!

Really enjoyed the campground. Beach access. Fire pits. Beautiful sunsets and pelicans. Restaurants are walking distance. Just a great pet friendly park.

Ok, it isn't perfect, but it was very enjoyable. It was clean, the area was safe, bathrooms cleaned every morning, the fishing dock was big and even has a fish cleaning station. The sites are small, it is near the highway (but it isn't loud), the bay is shallow (but fishing off the dock when the tide is nearing high tide was fun, the time gnat bugs are terrible in some spots, but not all. Would do it again if I wanted to be in the area.

Escaping from the hurricane and the traffic jams, we arrived at this campground. Good service, quiet, the place is small, with small sites, but with a spectacular view and reasonable prices. Play areas, swimming pool, fishing, among others. The office employees are very helpful and give very good recommendations of the area. The place is very clean.
