Hoover RV Park
Overview
Hoover RV Park offers a convenient, clean, and well-maintained stop for travelers visiting the Birmingham area. Located on the grounds of the Hoover Metropolitan Complex, this facility is managed by the city and provides a reliable base for both short-term stays and event-related visits. Unlike traditional wooded campgrounds, this park offers a more urban, functional atmosphere focused on modern utility and accessibility.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Hoover, the park is just a short drive from I-459, making it an easy off-and-on for cross-country travelers. The surrounding area is dominated by the Hoover Met Stadium and the Finley Center, creating a vibrant, active environment. You will find yourself within minutes of the Riverchase Galleria, one of the largest shopping destinations in the Southeast, providing endless dining and retail options.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed for ease of use, featuring full hookup sites with water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Each site is situated on a level, paved concrete pad, which is ideal for heavy motorhomes and helps maintain a clean environment. Guests also benefit from on-site trash collection and complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring you stay connected while on the road.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Visitors are perfectly positioned to explore the Moss Rock Preserve, a 349-acre nature park featuring unique boulders and hiking trails just minutes away. For sports fans, catching a game at the stadium is a primary draw. History buffs can take a fifteen-minute drive into Birmingham to visit the Civil Rights District or the Vulcan Park and Museum, which offers panoramic views of the city skyline.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an excellent choice for big-rig owners looking for a stress-free parking experience without navigating narrow, wooded paths. It is also a premier destination for families attending youth sports tournaments or fans visiting for major baseball events. If you prioritize convenience and security over a rustic wilderness experience, Hoover RV Park provides a high-quality, practical solution for your Alabama travels.

The campground is in a parking lot by the Hoover Met Complex, it's a great location with sporting activities right here, a splash pad/ playground for the kids, plenty of parking, restaurants and shopping is close by. We love it here.

We stayed at the RV Park. Very convenient to the Met baseball fields. Was just a simple walk to the fields. Great location to everything. Stores, shopping, food are all close by. Full hookups, sewer, water, and electricity.

Great location, just a few minutes to the city center. Sites are paved and level. All hookups worked well. Pull throughs are perfect for a one nighter. A little pricey, but I would stay here again if I had to visit Birmingham.

This RV park looks to be well maintained but when you’re actually in it, it’s not. There’s no dog park so naturally pet owners are walking their dogs around the park. Pet waste canisters and bags are provided yet for some reason, there’s poop all over the place. There’s also way more debris and garbage around than you’d expect. You’d think with a fully paved lot it would be level. Think again. My main issue with this place is there’s no posted speed limit so people fly through here; staff, residents, everyone. I’m relieved my kids aren’t with us as it wouldn’t be a safe place for them to ride their bikes or walk to the park that’s onsite. How do you offer 170 full hook up sites and not offer laundry facilities? That’s enough of the bad; the good news is that the park is quiet. You have access to the Finley center although it was closed for events most of the duration of our stay. The lots are all pull through so it’s easy to get in and out. This is the first park where the wifi has actually worked so that was nice.
