A beautiful location among the pine trees. Perfect for day trips to enjoy so many activities in the region - the Spa, Wind Cave, Custer, Mammoth Site, local parks and watering holes, plus agate hunting. Owners are working very hard to maintain and improve their campground. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location. We stayed here a couple nights en route to WY. Close to Wind cave canyon trails and parts of Custer - we hit Hell Canyon. Super clean bathrooms, quiet campground. Right off hwy so you hear the trucks and cars a bit. Staff super friendly. Our dog loved it too.

Stayed three nights, staff was amazing all super nice, knowledgeable and just good people! This KOA was nice for the kiddos had a playground, mini golf, and a very clean pool area. Bathrooms and showers were also very clean and taken care of. Had breakfast out last morning which was good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you have kiddos and will be staying in the area.

Super nice staff. Clean cabins and campground. Great pool. Very relaxing stay. We had a great cabin with a patio, grill, shower and toilet. After 3-4 prior KOA campgrounds over that last many nights it was nice to not have to walk to the bathroom in the morning ;)

We stayed 2 nights here. Was convenient for Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road. Nice rustic campground. We had FHU site with patio, grill, table/chairs. Partially shaded sites. Nice pool to cool off in the afternoon. Would stay again. Didn’t use any services (bathhouse, game room, cafe but appeared to be very nice) would stay again.

Todd and his wife are extremely helpful and friendly. This KOA is well maintained and beautiful. Site was level and easy to get our 40 ft toy hauler in and out. Bath house was clean and water was warn. We didn't use the mini golf area but it was tidy and looked inviting. The dog park and dog walk were GREAT! Todd even brought us firewood for the provided firepit and suggested a fun bowling alley with good food. There was even a BBQ grill at each site! Thanks so much! Definitely stay here, especially as the road up to Crazy Horse has length and width restrictions due to construction so getting to campsites closer to the memorial (Which you should plan a half day to visit) is impossible right now. 3/27/22

Found this KOA last minute while traveling through SD. Getting there and checking in were super easy. Todd left us a map, park pamphlet, and his phone number for our late check in. Park is well maintained and roads are clearly labeled. Since we visited in the off season we were having a hard time finding firewood, we called Todd to see if he had any suggestions and we found out that he/the camp sells wood and he even delivered it to our campsite. Todd was extremely nice when we spoke with him over the phone, he asked if the map made sense and asked if we needed anything. The bathroom/showers were extremely clean and we saw the trash was changed every day we were there. Park was quiet and since it is coupled up against some private property we even got to see a herd of cattle grazing about 50 feet away. The park is also very close to the town of hotsprings, about a 5 minute drive. Overall we had a great time and will be staying here again when we're in the area. Thanks Todd!

We had the best stay here. The place is exceptionally clean and easy to navigate. The staff is not only friendly and helpful, but they actually seem to enjoy their jobs. The breakfast was outstanding - eggs, sausage, gravy, hash browns, pancakes, etc. It was also fun to sit outside with other campers from all over every morning drinking our coffee and talking about the adventure from the previous day or the plans for that day. Others grabbed their food and went back to their sites to relax, options for everyone. The location is in great proximity to the Mammoth site and Hot Springs, less than an hour to all of the action. We enjoyed having a little distance from the scene. It gave us a chance to see the beauty of the Black Hills - including wildlife - every day before navigating the traffic, people and parking in the park.
