Beautiful little campsite along the river. We visited in August of 2019 and there were only 2 or 3 other groups staying here, along with the campground hosts. It was a very nice change of pace from the crowded National Park campgrounds in Yellowstone!

This is a beautiful campsite right off the river. If you can, get a campsite that butts up against the river to ensure that you’re able to hear the roaring waters as you sleep. The people were friendly, and - though the services were somewhat limited - the bathroom was very clean. This is a very remote location without easy access to food or gas, so I would recommend coming prepared. Waking up the next morning for a drive through the Lamar Valley made the location worth it!

Great view of the Milky Way at night along the river with the clearest, darkest sky you will find. Absolutely the cleanest vault toilet I have ever seen. The campground has one pump filled with cold, clean, tasty water. The campground hosts were the most friendly retired couple in the world and make sure you have all the firewood you will need for your stay. The campsite was great and I would stay here anytime I want to be in this part of the country.
