Huzzah Valley Resort

Overview

Huzzah Valley Resort is a cornerstone of the Missouri floating tradition, offering a gateway to some of the most scenic waterways in the Ozarks. Located in the heart of the region, this family-owned destination provides a comprehensive outdoor experience centered around the crystal-clear waters of the Huzzah River. It successfully combines a classic river resort feel with modern convenience, making it a staple for travelers seeking a getaway that blends quiet relaxation with active river excursions.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Steelville, MO, the park is nestled within a landscape defined by rolling hills and dense woodlands. The property sits at the confluence where the Huzzah River and Courtois Creek flow toward the Meramec. Travelers will find themselves surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ozarks, which offers a lush, green backdrop for evening campfires. The surrounding valley provides a serene environment where the sounds of the water and local wildlife create a truly immersive outdoor atmosphere.

Amenities & Park Features

The resort caters well to the RV community by providing spacious full-hookup sites and pull-through options that accommodate various rig sizes. Beyond the basic hookups, guests have access to a well-stocked general store, clean bathhouses, and an on-site dining lodge for convenient meals during busy weekends. The river access points are the primary draw, supported by a professional shuttle and equipment rental service that manages all the logistics for those floating the local waterways throughout the summer season.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While floating and tubing are the main events, the area offers more than just water activities. Visitors can explore the nearby Mark Twain National Forest for extensive hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. For those interested in local history and geology, the famous Meramec Caverns is only a short drive away. The town of Steelville itself is widely known as the Floating Capital of Missouri, offering a charming small-town atmosphere with unique local shops and traditional Missouri barbecue.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is ideal for active families and groups who prioritize river recreation and a social camping atmosphere. Because of its extensive shuttle services and direct riverfront access, it is a perfect fit for RVers who enjoy paddle sports, tubing, or fishing. We had a great time camping and floating here last weekend. It is clean, safe and well maintained. The staff are all really nice and they help you get the most out of your stay. Dog friendly too!

We got the Huzzah Haven cabin and absolutely loved it! The only thing I would change is maybe add some steps or better access into river; mom thought it was too hard to maneuver the rocks to get in and cool off. Definitely got my exercise going up and down the steps but we had a blast!

I have only been once but it was a nice experience. They are a well oiled machine. We brought our own kayaks to put in and they drove our truck down to the pickup spot which was really nice. I prefer that option over the shuttle back up and will use their services again. The restroom was clean and smelled nice. Their shop had every accessory you would need.

First time ever being to the Huzzah Resort, the rooms were clean and spacious enough for the whole crew. Foods pretty expensive but this place is an essential to any family looking for their next vacation spot!

This is are go to for kayaking! It is very family and beginner friendly! It always just a great day on the river! They have all different size cabins, RV spots, and tent camping! Great beaches to play on! We love to catch the baby fish and find rocks! We also always enjoy seeing the animals! This year they go goats and we had a blast feeding them and petting them! We love seeing the horses! I have always wanted to do the horseback riding but still haven't got that lucky to be able to! This is deff a great place to take the little one and get them used to river rat life! We love u huzzah valley!! Thank you for all the great memories and adventures!

We stayed in the otter cabin. It was awesome. They are pet friendly. We had a view of the river on our back deck. It was fully furnished with everything needed as in linen cooking utensils everything. I would definitely move there if I could. The staff is very friendly. Also very helpful. We arrived late at night and not knowing that the store was already closed. We called an emergency number and a gentleman was nice enough to come put us in a cabin anyways. I highly recommend them!

Loved this resort. We had a camp site on the water and it was beautiful. Love that you can order pizza and have it delivered to you. The staff members were all very nice. We went during the week and it wasnt crowed at all. We brought our dog and he was allowed everywhere we went including the store. The only negative thing I have to say is that although there was a portapotty very close to us which was super great, it was absolutely disgusting. Probably the worst I had ever seen. I did ask when checking out and they are maintained by a different company. All in all we loved it and will be back.

We floated the Huzzah in kayaks. We went on a Friday morning, and it was not crowded at all. The water is clear, especially when compared to the Merrimac. The country store at the resort is very large and well stocked. Bathrooms and showers were clean. We will go again.

This place is REALLY expensive! And is definitely geared towards the "party" vibe kinda people. I took my 6 teenagers for family day floating and it was definitely all drunk partying people. If that what your after you'll love it but if quiet family chill type thing then I wouldn't come here. 2 night 7 people was $250! And 5 kayak rentals for float was another $250! And that AFTER military discount. Camp sites are nice mostly and on water which is why we go but they run out of electric/water sites quick! And bathroom is a single porta potty like per block we used woods. Only showers and real bathrooms are attached to main entrance store. So you will need to drive for those.

I've been here 5 times since 2015. My wife and I really love the place. We rent an A-Frame cabin and they've been recently updated. The float trips are fun. They have horses and a trail. Volleyball courts. Playgrounds for the kids. Each cabin has its own outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, and deck. If you like relaxing and not constantly being on the go, this place is for you.
