Jellystone Park At Whispering Pines

Overview

Jellystone Park At Whispering Pines offers a lively, family-centric scenic escape nestled in the beautiful East Texas landscape. As part of the famous Camp-Resort brand, this park combines traditional camping with high-energy activities themed around Yogi Bear and friends. It is designed to be more than just a place to park an RV; it is a destination resort where children and adults find constant engagement. The park maintains a balance between a high-energy atmosphere and the natural tranquility of the surrounding forest.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just north of Tyler, TX, the park is immersed in the iconic Piney Woods region. The terrain is characterized by rolling hills and dense canopies of towering pine trees, providing excellent shade and a sense of seclusion. Its location offers easy access from major highways while remaining far enough from the city center to feel like a true outdoor retreat. The air is fresh, and the environment is perfect for those who appreciate wooded landscapes and the distinct charm of East Texas.

The park is packed with amenities that cater to active travelers. Guests can enjoy a massive water zone featuring slides and a splash pad, alongside two swimming pools. Other highlights include:

  • Spacious full hookup sites for big rigs
  • Mini-golf and laser tag courses
  • Gem mining and a jumping pillow

The presence of a well-stocked camp store and organized daily activities ensures that every logistical need is met without leaving the grounds, making it a very convenient stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While there is plenty to do on-site, the surrounding area of Tyler provides unique excursions. Nature lovers often visit the world-renowned Tyler Rose Garden or explore the trails at Tyler State Park. Families frequently take short trips to the Caldwell Zoo or visit the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary. For a taste of local history and scenic views, the Texas State Railroad offers vintage train rides through the woods, making it a popular afternoon trip for visitors.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal fit for families with young children who desire a resort-style experience with constant programming. It is perfect for those who want the convenience of modern facilities paired with the fun of a theme park. I have a reservation coming up and I had a wonderful experience with the reservation specialist named Sherry. She was very very patient with me and helped resolve a reservation date change with ease. My experience with her was wonderful and I am beyond excited for my stay coming up. Sherry, thank you so much for your help.

I loved this location so much better than the last location I went to. We had so much fun doing tye dye and gold mining with Heather. The ranger station women was so sweet to my ASD. I believe her name was Kristen? Either way, the pricing was great for what we got to do. I would definitely come back :)

We stayed at Jellystone in Feb. for a long weekend to spend time with grandkids. We stayed in a spacious cabin that was nice and clean. The bed was made up when we arrived, a big plus! There is always plenty for grandkids to do. We will go back when weather is warm. The grandkids love the waterpark. A special thank you to April for having everything ready at check in.

Christmas with My Grands…Aka Nana Camp 2025 has been Amazing! Jellystone is The Best Place to bring the kids! Outdoor fun and room for everyone, in Boo Boos Cabin! These kids have not let the 30* weather interrupt their fun and Yogi’s Campground has everything you need to entertain them! 5 stars for sure! And 2 of our favorite hosts, Sherry Hulsey & Jay Mc Caunathy have been so great to work with and help us with everything we need! 😍🙏🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤶🏼

Our family of 6 had a great experience! The area is just beautiful. The grounds are kept meticulously clean. When we checked into our cabin, we noticed our grill had been broken. We told the front office that morning, and by afternoon it had been replaced. There are activities for all ages and all of my kids ages (8-15) had a wonderful time. Favorite activities included the zip line, swimming, mini golf, and arcade.

The cabins are so clean. It’s quite impressive especially with how busy the weekend seemed. The people are what make Jellystone Tyler amazing. Tom and Saylor were incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to find us a golf cart. It completely changed our stay. The kids were so upset because they had been looking forward to getting a golf cart. Thank you for taking the extra mile to make out that much more memorable.

We stayed at Jellystone Park in July and had such a wonderful time! The campground was clean, well-kept, and very family-friendly. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The activities were a highlight—there was always something going on for kids and adults alike. Between the pool, splash pad, and themed events, the kids were happily entertained all day. We especially appreciated how organized everything was, and the energy of the staff who made the activities fun and engaging. Our site was spacious and shaded, which made it comfortable even in the summer heat. The facilities—bathrooms, showers, and camp store—were well maintained, and it felt like everything was designed with families in mind. What stood out most was the sense of community. Families gathered together, kids made friends instantly, and evenings around the campfire felt special. Jellystone really goes the extra mile to create lasting memories, and it shows. We left already talking about when we can come back. If you’re looking for a summer getaway that blends relaxation with family fun, Jellystone Park is the perfect spot.

My family and I stayed August 22-24. It was a short stay but a wonderful and relaxing experience. It was super kid friendly as well. Plenty to do for all ages or quiet enough to do nothing at all. The cabin was super cute and clean. The staff was super friendly. I can’t remember the staff member’s name but she worked in the Ranger Station. She was so nice and helpful. Also Sherry who worked at the check in/out desk was nice as well. I highly recommend taking your whole family and enjoy the experience

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Check-in was easy, though they did ask about a reservation. It was about slightly over $80 with tax for a day pass for 2 people. The waterpark was a highlight of fun, not overly crowded, and refreshingly free of blaring music. It had plenty of sun chairs, but more shaded tables would make it even better since those fill up quickly. The pool itself could use a bit more circulation or shade, as it was almost like stepping into a warm bathtub, but it didn’t ruin the fun. It felt like stepping back into a 90s water park, in the best way possible. Food prices were a little high but not outrageous. The pizza was decent, and the burger was surprisingly good. The fries were unique, like chewy chips, and while different, they weren’t bad at all. I also appreciated that alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced, with a fun $2 “shot of the day” option. The park offers a game room for guests and a bubble blob for kids to jump on, which was a big hit. It’s clear they’re constantly making improvements and adding to the park. Oh, and with golf cart rentals available to campers parking could be difficult to find if you do not arrive early. Overall, aside from the water park, it would be an amazing place to stay for a family getaway. Highly recommended.

The cabin was good. We have stayed her 3 other times, the staff made you feel like family. The activities were only $5 per day per kid. BIG CHANGE!! New owners, now prices are more. Tie dye,gem mining, laser tag & ceramic painting is extra.
