Kenai Princess RV Park
Overview
The Kenai Princess RV Park offers a refined camping experience within the heart of the Alaskan wilderness. As part of the prestigious **Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge** complex, this RV park provides a unique opportunity to enjoy the rugged beauty of the region without sacrificing modern conveniences. With only **30 designated sites**, the park maintains a peaceful and organized atmosphere that allows travelers to focus on the spectacular natural landscape surrounding them.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the scenic community of Cooper Landing, the park is perched on a hillside overlooking the iconic, turquoise-colored **Kenai River**. The setting is quintessential Alaska, featuring dense forests of spruce and birch trees framed by the towering peaks of the Chugach Mountains. Guests are perfectly positioned to enjoy the tranquil sounds of the river below and the frequent sightings of local wildlife, including eagles and moose, which are common in this **prime peninsula location**.
Amenities & Park Features
Despite its remote feel, the park is designed to accommodate modern travelers with ease. Each site is equipped with **full hookups**, providing water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. The layout features spacious pull-through sites that simplify the setup process for larger vehicles. Guests also have access to clean restrooms, private showers, and laundry facilities. A standout feature is the proximity to the main lodge, where RVers can visit the **gift shop or dine** at the on-site restaurants and lounges.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The area is a world-renowned destination for outdoor recreation, specifically for those seeking **premier salmon and trout fishing** on the Kenai and Russian Rivers. For those who prefer land-based adventures, the nearby Resurrection Pass Trail offers miles of scenic hiking through the backcountry. Travelers can also arrange for **guided rafting trips** through the Kenai Canyon or take a short drive to Seward to explore the wonders of Kenai Fjords National Park and its massive glaciers.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an excellent choice for travelers who value comfort and proximity to high-quality lodge services. Because of the level sites and wide access roads, it is **ideal for big-rig owners** who may find other Alaskan campgrounds too narrow or primitive. It best suits RVers looking for a secure, well-managed basecamp that serves as a gateway to the Kenai Peninsula’s most famous **outdoor adventures and fishing spots** while providing a touch of resort-style hospitality.

We followed our RV GPS and turned off AK-1 at Bean Creek Rd, which brought us to the Kenai Princess RV Park. A steep left turn led to the office, where we had a super friendly check-in. There was an RV in our site when we arrived, but the office quickly moved them to the overflow. The sites were split on two sides of a wide road with a large turnaround area, so backing into Site 35 with FHUs (30 AMP) was easy. The site was long enough for our 40’ toy hauler, including dropping the patio, and we could still park our F450 crosswise. Sewer connections were at the back center of the pad, with water and electric at the center—no issues. Water pressure was about 40 PSI. Because of perimeter trees and fishermen’s vehicles, we set Starlink on the roof for a clear sky shot. Verizon gave us 2 bars, while T-Mobile had no service. There were paths around the campground to the lodge and down to the lake, which we enjoyed walking with our pups. There weren’t many grocery options in Cooper Landing. The nearest major amenities were about an hour away in Soldotna. Overall, this was a decent campground that met our needs.

Nice RV campground. Very helpful staff. Clean facilities. The Princess Lodge is right above, with a gift shop and a great restaurant.

This is an awesome spot above the Kenai River. Great showers and laundry. Friendly and helpful staff. The park is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cooper Landing; but is only a few minutes away. Bonus: the lodge just above the park, that RV guests can use. Great restaurant and gift shop on site.

Great campground with wonderful mountain views. Very clean and modern bathrooms. $45. I withhold one star because of coin-operated showers. That's always seemed a chintzy way to extract a few more dollars out of customers.

I love this campground. It is very clean and has great restrooms and a washing machine area. You cannot beat the mountain views in this RV park it is a small RV park though. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone in the area.

For campgrounds in Alaska this is a 5 out of 5. This place is a hidden gem. The sites are level and feature full hookups. Laundry room on site with lots of units. The store manager Jason was super friendly at check-in and very helpful explaining everything about the park and what it had to offer. So nice after traveling for days to be greeted with a warm, friendly welcome!!! In addition to the camping area, guests are allowed to use the facilities at the lodge which include a full service restaurant and a bar. There is also a very nice deck that overlooks the river. There is a nice gift shop on site with plenty of souvenirs. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and have spectacular views from all angles. If there were mosquitoes down at the campsite so we did use the Thermo cell that we purchased at Walmart. My husband agreed this was our favorite campsite of our time in Alaska. Wonderful value for all of the amenities at the park.

In the past, we have taken several Princess Cruises, stayed independently at 3 the of the Princess Cruise Alaska Lodges so when planning a RV trip this seemed like a great option in a great location. Check in was quick, located with Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge. Shops, restaurants and more. Park has full hookups, water, electric, sewer were all fine. Check in person said it had wifi and cable, then wished us luck using it. Wifi was 2 bars when it worked and didn't try cable. Has showers ($2/10 minutes), showers were not clean, not sure if always dirty or just later in the day, water was hot. Shower setup was odd, if you need additional time you must exit your shower stall to insert additional quarters. Laundry (2.50 wash/2.50 dry), did not use. Laundry room was dirty. Park appears to have many an long term units and could use a good mowing and trimming. Site wasn't level but fixable with multiple blocks. I deducted 1 star for site not being level, 1 star for showers, and 2 for appearance and staff lack of caring. Basically, it gets 1 star for location. I would not stay again.

RV park is the best on the Kenai in my opinion because of being connected to the princess lodge. Bathrooms are great with showers(coins operated). Staff is nice, area for recycling, trash and tons more. I highly recommend this location.

Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. Clean laundry. Fairly level, gravel sites. Sites have plenty of room. Nearby lodge has a restaurant with very good food. Full hookup site was $53 with tax. Four stars because they don't have family-style shower rooms. And shower water drains very slowly.
