Located in the heart of Cooper Landing, this park serves as a comfortable base for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the Kenai Peninsula’s natural beauty. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, reflecting the local spirit of the Kenai Mountains.
Location & Surroundings
The park is nestled within the Chugach National Forest, surrounded by towering peaks and lush spruce forests. Its most striking feature is the immediate proximity to the vibrant turquoise waters of the Kenai River. Positioned on the Sterling Highway, it provides easy access to the region's main thoroughfares while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors often wake up to the sounds of the rushing river and may spot bald eagles or moose roaming near the property, providing a true sense of Alaskan wonder.
Amenities & Park Features
While the setting is rustic, the amenities cater to the needs of modern RVers. The park provides partial hookup sites with electricity and water, along with an on-site dump station for convenience. Facilities include clean restrooms, hot showers, and laundry services to help long-term travelers refresh. Anglers will particularly appreciate the dedicated fish cleaning station, which is essential after a successful day on the water. The community fire pit serves as a central gathering spot for sharing fishing stories under the midnight sun.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Cooper Landing is a premier destination for world-class salmon and trout fishing, with professional guide services often operating just steps from the campground. Beyond the water, the nearby Russian River Falls offers a chance to watch salmon jump upstream during the seasonal runs. Hikers can explore the Slaughter Ridge or Kenai River Trail for breathtaking panoramic views of Kenai Lake. For those seeking adventure, scenic rafting trips through the Kenai Canyon provide a thrilling way to experience the local geography and wildlife.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for avid anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to be steps away from the riverbank. It appeals to travelers who prefer a smaller, more intimate setting over large, crowded commercial resorts. Because it offers a variety of lodging options, it is also perfect for multi-generational groups where some family members might prefer the comfort of a B&B while others stay in their RV. If you value direct river access and a central location for exploring the Peninsula, this is a top choice.

A gravel lot with tight spacing. Clean and close to area attractions. No sewer but water pressure is good. Electrical is ok.

Stayed here two days at this very clean, well managed RV Park. Johnny, Patrick and the staff go above and beyond to accommodate the guests. We utilized their 30 amp electrical hookup and water. Dump station on site, showers ($5), fire rings, and close walk to Kenai River (eagles nest with eaglets!) and several sites for excursions like fishing or scenic rafting. Beautiful area, quiet surroundings. We will visit again! Thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

"B&B" may be a label that comes with certain expectations. My expectation was a dry, clean place to sleep, that wouldn't break the bank. Rooms in Alaska can run well over $200/night, so to discover this honey hole for $75/night was a real find! Staff is excellent- helpful, friendly. The surroundings are stunning; the lake and river are turquoise!!! You can find a fancier place to stay, but you'll pay for the frills.

We stayed there one night with our RV on our way to Homer. It was a really nice place, right near the river. The lady at the office was really nice. She let us use the hot shower and the bathroom as long as we wanted for $5 which was pretty nice. They have pretty room if you don't feel like camping outside. Yes the spots are near each other but I've seen worst in Alaska. We had a good experience and really nice staff!

Weather was supposed to be bad and Was told over the phone that if we didn't end up staying the full two days we could get our money back for the one night we didn't stay. Which they didn't honor and the posted price on website is incorrect it's $20 dollars a night for tent camps. We show to set up our camp and the place over looks the back side of the camp which is full of cars and heavy duty equipment . It's located next to a swamp and river . Wasn't a good experience. Or a good place to camp there camps are right on top of each other no real privacy. We will be going somewhere else next trip
