I came here a few months ago with some close friends, not realizing the nightmare we were walking into. The camp staff, mostly made up of the owner’s family, put on fake smiles and acted polite at first, but it didn’t take long for their true colors to show. Later that night, while we were in the camper we all shared, we heard one of the main owners—the mother, who seems to run the place like her personal kingdom—driving by. She was on the phone, loudly talking about us, mocking the “new arrivals” and calling us “stupid,” completely ignoring the fact that our camper was right there. These people are the definition of two-faced. To your face, they’ll pretend to be welcoming and kind, but the moment you turn your back, they tear into everyone with disgusting arrogance. It’s honestly disturbing how fake and mean-spirited they are beneath their friendly act.

My husband and I had camped there back when the parents were still alive. Lovely people. Years later decided to go back with our 5th wheel. We had a seasonal site. The site across from us had become available so we decided we liked that site better and called to have the trailer moved while out of season so that we could just come up and it would be all set. Covid had come along during this time so we didn’t get up there until the following season. My mom and I went up to clean it up for opening of the season just to be horrified. The inside had wood cabinets that were all broken and unhinged, split. Lights were hanging. Water had been pouring through the ceiling and air conditioning unit. You could clearly see that when the trailer was moved in it had hit a tree and had jack knived. We had just gotten this trailer the season before at Longview and it was in perfect condition Keystone Cougar.. None the less immediately went down to office to be told they had no idea what had happened and it wasn’t anything they had done. The trailer was only moved by them. They totally took no responsibility and said it wasn’t their problem. They never offered to put a claim in on insurance or any help at all. Had Longview pick trailer up and they said it was totaled and didn’t even want it. Mind you we had just gotten it season before from them and it wasn’t brand new but it was very nice and something that we spent our hard earned money on. Newfane has a clan of people that have been going for years and aren’t the friendliest to new comers. When your checking in for first time it’s all smiles while your paying them , after that don’t expect any niceness or courteousness from all the people who hang out in front of office or that are the lifers there. The mom and dad were so nice years ago and his son and wife that took it over after their passing are nothing like they were. We have moved on and now go camping by tenting. Yes tenting. I have to say it’s pretty fun but still can’t believe that these people ruined my beautiful trailer and didn’t stand behind their faultful actions at all. They just totally disregarded the whole situation and I would never ever recommend this campground again. They should be ashamed of themselves as they know what they did and just didn’t care and hid from the situation. I believe in Karma.
