La Farge Village Park

Overview

La Farge Village Park offers a peaceful retreat for travelers exploring the heart of Wisconsin Driftless Area. Situated in a quiet valley, this municipal park provides a welcoming atmosphere for RVers who value simplicity and proximity to nature. It serves as an excellent gateway to the Kickapoo River, where the landscape is defined by rolling hills and ancient rock formations that were never touched by glaciers. The park captures a sense of community that makes visitors feel like locals during their stay.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled along the banks of the river, often called the crookedest river in the world. This location puts visitors in the center of a lush, green corridor known for its diverse flora and fauna. The surrounding village of La Farge is a quaint community that reflects the slow pace of rural Wisconsin life. Visitors are surrounded by organic farms and dense hardwood forests that come alive with vibrant colors every autumn, creating a scenic backdrop for every campsite.

Amenities & Park Features

This facility balances basic comforts with outdoor utility. Guests can find sites equipped with electric and water hookups, making it easy to settle in for a few nights. The park features a clean restroom and shower building, a sanitary dump station, and large picnic shelters for group gatherings. Families often appreciate the on-site playground and the open green spaces that allow children and pets plenty of room to roam safely within the park boundaries.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of activity, as the park is just minutes away from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. This 8,600-acre tract offers miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails through unique geological features. Paddling is a primary draw here, with easy access to river entry points for canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts. Additionally, the region is famous for its local Amish shops, where visitors can purchase handcrafted furniture and fresh baked goods while touring the countryside.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for nature lovers and paddlers who want to be close to the water without the bustle of a massive commercial resort. It is a perfect fit for self-sufficient RVers who enjoy a rustic community atmosphere and want to explore the unique topography of southwest Wisconsin. If you are looking for a quiet, budget-friendly home base to experience the serene beauty of the Driftless region, this park is an excellent choice for your itinerary.

Nice older park, new electric with 50amp. Flush toilets. Sites are smaller, would not go in a 40ft MH and put slides out. Mature trees. $10 a night for tent 20 for camper. Still open on November 14 and restrooms heated. Love it .I'm 67 with health problems and it's great to be able to camp in late fall.

What a great little municipal RV park! Has electric only with a water hose and dump area near the entrance. Price is right at $20 per night. Very quiet and off the main road noise.

Lovely park with nice campsites, clean comfort station with pay as you go showers, and community activities. On a hill overlooking town. We were there for the Fourth of July festivities. Just a perfect way to celebrate our country's birth.

Good alternative to campsite in Kickapoo if they're filled up. Fresh water, bathrooms, pump outs, and electric hook ups. $10 for tent/$20 for RV. Bathrooms are in OK condition. Barely occupied even on the 4th of July, so more space than you'd expect. Only complaint is that the locals like to ride their ATVs/Harleys through the park on joy rides, so may have to deal with a little noise. Not bad though.
