I stayed in area 2 on a Thursday in mid- October. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. She was able to tell me which sites were reserved for the night so I grabbed a spot away from those sites. Very quiet and beautiful. Site 59 has a great view of the lake and walking distance to the dock. The restrooms are only a short walk. Homer is about 30 min from the campground.

Lake Claiborne State Park is a Beautiful camp ground. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in one of the few FHU pull through sites. There aren’t any FHU sites on the Lake shore but it was a short walk from our camp to the Lake. We found the paved roads to be a little narrow but fairly smooth. The lady at the gate house was very nice and helpful. We do plan to go back.

Beautiful part with amazing views. sites are nicely spaced apart. Water views are amazing. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Only real need in the park is some maintenance of the asphalt roads. There are some very deep ridgy potholes and areas with missing asphalt. we did have neighbors playing barely loud music their whole stay. Although rules indicated that was not loud and it seemed like workers drove by from time to time no one ever seemed to tell them to turn it down. even so. This is a beautiful place and I would definitely come back.

A gem. We're 40ft 5th wheel, wending through trees looked daunting but they're straight trees (no low branches) the paved roadway is narrow on some turns but it was dry so no problem when RV went a bit off edge. Drive out we climbed 2 steepish slopes. So beautiful, our spot backed into the lake and sloped backwards #20, our doggy swam in shallows. Birds and some shy deer. We stayed a few days with elec/water. There's a dump we didn't use. Cute small boat jettys, this is one small part of a massive lake.

This is a great State Park. It has a beach right by the lake with plenty of picnic tables. It has a disc golf field and a playground. The campsites have amazing views around the lake. Some are just a few feet from the lake. The bathrooms are super clean. It's definitely a great place to camp or spend some family time.

Recommend if you are looking for a short weekend getaway. Beautiful state park. Pretty quiet. Clean water lake with beach area and sheds. Family friendly. The park offers also large party center with lake view. Trails to walk. We visited this park on September 2024. We seen more new sheds are on the way to be built on the beach. There is entrance fee per person.

We stayed here three nights Nov 2024. Base rate is $33 for water/elec, we were in loop 1. Louisiana does offer a over 62 or America the Beautiful senior discount is 50% off. Beautiful park, lots of rolling hills. Modern bathrooms with a laundry room. The lake is pretty clear. Huge swimming beach with shaded tables. There are two disc golf courses, supposedly in the top 100 in the world. There are cabins to rent. Great T-Mobile service.

The park itself is always in pristine condition. Lake Claiborne shines above all other LA State Parks I've been to. I've both camped and rented cabins. The camping bathrooms are always clean. There are washers and dryers on site. They also house 2 of the top disc golf courses in the state. Long tees (blues) have concrete tee boxes. Whitetail is a must play of you only have time for 1. The course is a bit difficult. With a lot of elevation, firm but fair OBs and precariously placed baskets, there's no shortage of danger. The scenery keeps your mind off of your racing heartbeat, but do your best to keep it in the fairway. They go in easy, but they don't want to come out! Dogwood is the newest course. Named after the dogwood trees that are located all around the park. It also has concrete tees on the longs. While this one can be considered rougher, some find it more challenging.
