I would give it 4.5 starts if I could for only 1 major reason. Trees! Coming in and going out, my camper hit trees that are over hanging the road and there is no way to avoid them. They need to manage the tress for anyone that has a taller camper. Trail system around there is awesome and the facilities are clean and very nice.

It feels like you are not in the city even though it just a couple miles away. Beautiful, relaxing and nice sized campsites. We were very pleasantly surprised

Flat, drive through spots, easy access to water and sanitation stations. Friendly camp host. Quiet and peaceful but still close to the city. Plenty of paved bike trails to explore.

Great place for camping on biking trails all over the area, including downtown Madison and McFarland. Bathrooms were modern and well maintained. Sites are basic with electricity only but was easy to fill our water tank.

We’ve been coming to this park for a few years and really enjoy its access to the bike trails. My only complaint is the camp host this year. She is rude and not a good representative for the park...her husband is fine. As some else mentioned, she is aggressive and I agree that is a good description of her mannerism. I recommend the volunteer coordinator find a replacement for her.

This campground was amazing. The camp hosts were around to answer questions. The bathrooms were cleaned three times a day and the access to the bike bath was amazing. Completely free trail leads you to an amazing boardwalk to McFarland. $5 daily pass leads you to Madison or Fitchburg/Verona and beyond. Water and dump station available as you pull in but we were also able to top off, per the camp hosts suggestion, at a spigot near our camper.

The campground is beautiful and very well taken care of. It is directly adjacent to the bike trail; it is also relatively close to downtown Madison. We have camped here a number of times and have been very pleased. Though, during our current stay, the female Camp Host handles directing and dealing with camping resident's in a aggressive and negative way. Recommend County to evaluate the current Hosts future contract. Previously, the Camp Hosts have been amazing!
