Lake Havasu/Windsor Beach
Overview
Lake Havasu State Park, specifically the Windsor Beach area, offers a scenic desert getaway right on the shores of one of Arizona’s most popular waterways. Known for its clear blue waters and striking mountain backdrops, this park provides a mix of shoreline relaxation and active water sports. RVers often flock here to enjoy the temperate climate and the unique opportunity to camp within steps of the lake. It is a well-maintained state facility that balances natural beauty with modern conveniences.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Lake Havasu City, AZ, the park is ideally positioned for those who want easy access to urban amenities without sacrificing nature. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rugged desert terrain, panoramic lake views, and the iconic London Bridge nearby. Because the park sits directly on the eastern shore of Lake Havasu, visitors are treated to stunning sunsets over the water. The proximity to the city allows for quick trips to local grocery stores and dining options.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground features 47 sites, most of which offer 50-amp electrical hookups and potable water. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire ring, though there are no sewer hookups at the individual pads. A centrally located dump station is available for guest use. The park also boasts a large boat launch with multiple ramps, making it a favorite for boaters. Visitors can also enjoy clean restroom facilities, hot showers, and several designated beach areas for swimming or lounging in the sun.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw is the water, where visitors enjoy boating, fishing, and kayaking. Hikers can explore the Mohave Sunset Trail, a 1.7-mile path that winds along the shoreline and through the desert landscape. Just outside the park gates, the London Bridge serves as a historic centerpiece for the city, surrounded by a vibrant English Village with shops and cafes. For nature enthusiasts, the Arroyo-Camino Interpretive Garden showcases local flora and fauna, providing a peaceful educational experience within the park grounds.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and boaters who want direct access to the lake. Its central location also makes it perfect for RVers who enjoy exploring local history and culture in Lake Havasu City. While the campsites offer hookups, the atmosphere remains more rustic than a high-end resort, appealing to those who prioritize natural scenery and outdoor access. It is a fantastic choice for families looking for beach days and travelers seeking a well-positioned base for desert exploration.

This is a great park. The park is big, it has a section for cabins and one for RV's. The park staff does a great job of keeping the park neat and clean. They have some nice beach areas and even one for the dogs. The camp sites are good size and most have great views. We were able to walk across the park and rent a boat to take out on the lake for four hours. We will definitely stay here again.

Great State Park. First time visiting and loved it. We had a rental cabin with an RV spot. The cabin was a dry cabin with heat and AC. The RV site was roomy and plenty of room to walk between the cabin and RV. The site was right on the lake and the sunsets are amazing! We explored the town and area for several days. We went to Oatman, The Desert Bar and the Bunker Bar. Did some paddle boarding as well. We will visit again!

The park itself is nice, as long as you don’t have to use the showers- I didn’t thankfully but I did look at them- they need an upgrade. The lake and scenery are perfect- the park was very clean- short beach walk and a 1.5 mile trail in the park- go to the top of the trail for sunset!

Well maintained and very friendly. For 50 a night you get camp, water, eletric (that is yours), and there is a dump on sight (with potable water near by, it is next to street, away from dump, not the water at dump). There are big blue trash cans in the campgrounds (for all campers to use). The views are magnificent. There is a trail to the beach, a trail to watch sunset, trails to garden area... Its definitely worth the money. Sports, kayaking, boating, swimming?? (It was to cold at beginning of December to test the swim). Dinner-food, bring your own, have delivered (to gate), or go to one of the many places close by.

Very nice state park. Very large site. Sunset are beautiful. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Nice trail with cactus garden. Near everything by car or bike. Right on Lake Havasu and you see the London Bridge from the campground. Two points to complain. Showers have an annoying push button and only stays on for a few seconds and you have to keep pressing it and it took very long time to get warm and it is not realy warm, more cold than warm. We were there end of November and it is pretty cold in the morning till 10h and at night start to be cold at 5h PM, so It would have been nice to have a hot shower. Boats noice all day long to late at night and it is very loud but it is not state park fault. This is all I have to complain about. Hope to be back again.

Great park! Like every AZ state park we have been to, it's clean, well maintained, with friendly and helpful rangers and volunteers. Lake Havasu's campground was especially nice, as the sites are VERY widely spaced apart. Another big plus is our site looked over a beach and the lake.

We stayed in cabin #6 — a very nice spot that sleeps six comfortably. With the heat outside, both the lake and the cabin’s A/C were lifesavers. The beach gave us easy access to the water, and we were able to launch our kayak and paddle board right from there. We paddled all the way to the London Bridge, which took about two hours round trip. If you're into that kind of adventure, it’s definitely worth it. Fishing was great — lots of carp and striped bass around. The showers were clean, though I’d still recommend wearing flip-flops. The bathroom is cleaned every morning, which helps keep things fresh. Unfortunately, the neighboring family had two cabins and seemed to be a group of about 15. They were extremely loud, and their trash was scattered everywhere. Hopefully, you’ll have better luck with your neighbors. Also, we weren’t allowed to bring our dog, which was a real disappointment as well.

Cabins are very nice. It does get a little crowded on the weekends with the other cabins being occupied. There is a fire pit/grill set up which is pretty neat. I highly recommend it! But do reserve in advance.

We came to swim, but with all the boats and jet skis making waves, it's stirring up the lake bed and making the water gross. The "swimming area" is in between two boat launches, so it just reeks of gasoline. Great place for boats, not so much for swimmers.
