Lake Manchaug Camping

Overview

Lake Manchaug Camping offers a quintessential New England outdoor experience in the heart of Douglas, Massachusetts. This family-oriented destination is situated along the shores of the expansive 340-acre Lake Manchaug, providing a serene backdrop for both short-term visitors and seasonal residents. The park balances a rustic atmosphere with modern conveniences, ensuring that RVers feel connected to nature without sacrificing essential comforts during their stay in the historic Blackstone Valley region.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled within a heavily wooded landscape, offering plenty of shade and a sense of privacy for campers. Its primary draw is the direct access to freshwater recreation, as it sits on one of the most popular lakes in South Central Massachusetts. Beyond the park gates, the surrounding area is characterized by rolling hills and small-town charm, providing a peaceful escape while remaining within a reasonable driving distance from Worcester and Providence.

Amenities & Park Features

Facilities at Lake Manchaug Camping are designed to support an active lakeside lifestyle. The park features full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electric service to accommodate various RV sizes. On-site amenities include a private sandy beach, boat launching ramps, and sturdy docks for those bringing their own watercraft. Families often appreciate the playground, basketball courts, and the convenience of high-speed Wi-Fi and clean laundry facilities available to all guests throughout the season.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Exploration extends beyond the lake, with the Douglas State Forest located just a short drive away, offering miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. For a unique geological experience, visitors can head to Purgatory Chasm State Reserve to walk through dramatic rock formations and deep fissures. The central location also makes it easy to visit local farm stands and orchards, which are a staple of the Massachusetts countryside, especially during the harvest season.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for boating enthusiasts and anglers who want immediate access to the water for fishing or watersports. Its community-focused atmosphere and planned weekend activities make it a great choice for families looking to build lasting memories in a social environment. I camped here as a kid and thought about returning with a seasonal as an adult. Not much going on there. Can't walk the dogs off of the site. Can't use a golf cart. Beach is not walkable from available campsites with my health and driving my dually everywhere I Want to go seems like a massive waste. Nice place for the most part. Could use some love esthetic wise but unfortunately no carts and the dogs on site are deal breakers.

I had a wonderful time there and Bill and Karen Staruk were so friendly and helpful. I wish other campgrounds were more like theirs and as friendly and helpful as they were. Thank you and your son for your help. If ever back in your area will definitely be staying with you. Have a wonderful summer 😊

We had a great stay. Bill was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We were at spot 3 on the top and had cell service. The spot was prefect for walking my pup out of the campground(rule:can’t walk dogs around the campground.) There is a road on the side of the campground that was great for walking the pup. Beautiful campground! I felt very safe and comfortable in the campground.
