This family-oriented destination is centered around a 20-acre private lake, providing a tranquil backdrop for travelers exploring Somerset County. Whether you are stopping for a night or staying for a week, the park balances natural beauty with convenient access to the region’s coastal heritage and waterways.

Location & Surroundings

Located in Westover, Maryland, the campground is situated in a quiet, agricultural area just a short drive from the Chesapeake Bay. The surrounding landscape is characterized by flat coastal plains and dense woodlands, offering a genuine escape from urban noise. Its position near Highway 13 makes it an easy stop for those traveling north toward Delaware or south toward the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

Amenities & Park Features

The heart of the park is the spring-fed lake, which is perfect for fishing and non-motorized boating. Guests have access to a variety of site types, including spacious pull-thru sites with full hookups for larger rigs. Beyond the water, the park features a sparkling swimming pool, a miniature golf course, and a well-stocked camp store. These facilities ensure that visitors have both the essentials and recreation opportunities right at their doorstep.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

A short drive takes visitors to Crisfield, known as the Seafood Capital of the World, where you can catch a ferry to Smith Island. Nature lovers will enjoy visiting Janes Island State Park for pristine kayaking or heading east to the Atlantic coast to see the wild ponies at Assateague Island National Seashore. Local marinas and public boat ramps are also plentiful for those looking to explore the bay.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for families and anglers who enjoy a classic camping experience centered on outdoor activities. Nice park with average sized lots. Pretty extreme highway noise though. Lots are a combination of sand/mulch/gravel and lend to tracking a lot of debris in to the RV. Nice amenities: pool, camp store, LP, plenty of social areas, stocked fishing pond, clean showers. Security gate, well lit, owners on site.

We stayed near the playground and it was perfect for our family. The kids had a blast going back and forth between the swings, the animal area, and the pool. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The staff was really friendly and made us feel welcome right away. It’s a quiet campground with a relaxed vibe, and the other campers were nice too.

This place is absolutely amazing! We came in for what was suppose to be a single weekend trip and ended up staying for 3 weeks and we have already booked for another 2 weeks during Halloween. There is plenty here to do to keep the kids occupied. The corn hole area is unmatched. It’s a well lit and set up area with lots of fun and competitive tournaments. The people here are friendly and kind. There’s way too much to say about this place to put in this review. We have nothing negative to say about it what so ever. If you haven’t been here yet you should definitely check it out!

We really enjoyed this family run campground that offers many amenities. The pull thru sites are spacious and accommodating to our 38ft fifth wheel with room to spare. Very clean and friendly!

Been camping there past couple years. Nice campground clean bathrooms Friendly owners. Not to far from oacean city Maryland. Only down side it sits off of rt13 so you will have road noise.

Maiden voyage for me and my little new to me RV. Park seems to be filled with seasonal folks that are very kind and welcoming. I called that morning and was able to get a nice pull-in spot. Bath house was clean, very nice pool, playground for the children, little animal park. Animal park. Nice lake with some ducks and Canadian geese. And you can hear the frogs croaking in the background. Nice walking path back to goat Island. They even have paddle boats and canoes to rent, and bocce ball. Also saw a sand volleyball area. Plenty to do and keep kids amused as well. Pet friendly and the animals were well behaved and no problems seen that were left for others to clean up or step in. Very nice. Little Park would definitely recommend and stay again. Rates were very reasonable. Had $55 a night with water and electric, and fire ring and picnic table.

My daughter and I came to Somerset Campgrounds to stay for a week while we waited for the closing on our new home. 2 months later, we are still waiting. Everyone was very nice and helped us a lot! The staff was very friendly and the spaces were great. We ended up staying for 2 months, and we were moved 3 times. Even though we had 2 chickens(1 is a rooster) we were given great spaces. They have a petting zoo with roosters & peacocks so we fitted right in. If you come here to camp, tell them that I recommend this place! You will love it here!!
