Lakeview Park
Overview
Lakeview Park provides a tranquil setting for RV travelers seeking the scenic beauty of Fairfield County. Managed by the City of Lancaster, the park features a 15-acre spring-fed lake that serves as the heart of the campground. It offers a balanced experience for visitors who want the peace of a lakeside retreat without sacrificing the convenience of nearby urban services and historical sites. This park provides a refreshing sense of place where the water is the primary focus of the daily experience.
Location & Surroundings
Located on the southern edge of Lancaster, the park is surrounded by the rolling landscapes typical of the Appalachian foothills region. The environment is lush and wooded, providing ample shade and a sense of seclusion despite its proximity to town. Its location makes it an excellent gateway for those traveling through central Ohio toward the more rugged terrain found further south, offering a transition into the natural wonders of the state while keeping local shopping and dining within easy reach.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is well-equipped for RVers, offering sites with reliable electric hookups and easy access to necessary facilities. The layout is designed to maximize the lakefront experience for all guests. Recreational highlights include:
- A private swimming beach with a sandy area for seasonal use.
- Dedicated fishing areas along the banks of the spring-fed lake.
- Multiple picnic shelters and a playground for family gatherings.
Additional amenities include clean bathhouses and restrooms, ensuring a comfortable stay for short-term and seasonal visitors alike.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park boundaries, visitors can explore the historic downtown Lancaster area, which is home to unique museums and local eateries. Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity to Hocking Hills State Park, located just a short drive away, offering world-class hiking and cave exploration. Additionally, the nearby Rock Mill Park provides a glimpse into the region's industrial past with its stunning waterfall and restored grist mill, making it a perfect spot for afternoon photography.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is best suited for relaxed travelers and families who enjoy water-based activities like fishing and swimming in a quiet environment. It appeals to those who prefer a more traditional, community-focused camping experience over a commercialized resort. Because of its quiet atmosphere and strategic location, it is also a great fit for nature photographers and hikers looking for a comfortable base camp near Ohio's most famous natural landmarks without the crowds found in the heart of the state parks.

This could be a nice park in the future. Has a nice look over a small lake and very clean. This isn't a family park due to nothing for kids to do. It's not very close to any real attractions. The park has a lot of transient workers staying long term, which made us feel a little on edge. Also the trucks starting up for them to go to work every morning between 6 and 7 A M. Didn't make us happy. There are some seasonal campers. The owner doesn't seem to be very friendly. I tried waving a few times with no response from him. The one fellow that helps him always waves and is good to talk to. We didn't let that bother us but felt for an owner was strange. This is a good 1 or two night park in our opinion.

There are many poor (1star) reviews here but after spending 2 nights at Lakeside are unjustified in my opinion. My wife and I travel extensively and have seen and stayed at a spectrum of RV parks in the past. Over the past few years we have migrated into staying at KOAs as a convenience and frankly some non KOAs are poor. We stayed at Lakeview for a wedding being held in Lancaster. I scheduled based on location and after I paid the deposit, I read some concerning reviews about the staff and other campers. My experience was fantastic. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The facility was clean, well maintained, sitting on a beautiful lake. The campers, many of whom lived there full-time, were kind and very friendly. I would definitely return to this RV Park....even the Wi-Fi was great! Easily streamed a Netflix movie at night (as many of you know, this is not always possible).

Seems like it could be a nice RV park. Beautiful view of the lake and quiet. Sites are tight and lots of extra trucks and cars parked in front of the sites. Even though we did see where there was overflow parking. We had company stop by after 7pm and when they left the back gate was closed. We left a message to see when it was going to be open but did not hear back. We wanted to get out early had a long drive ahead of us. It was not a fun experience trying to get our rig out to head to the front gate maneuving cars truck and picnic table. No where on the website or map did it show the back gate was to be closed and when it would open. You may want to note this or on check in ask if you plan to head out early.

Here at the Lakeview RV park we have found a gem! Boyfriend is traveling for work in the area and after many calls to surrounding parks, Rick picked up on the first ring, he offered us a spot at an incredible rate. After needing to extend our stay he was easily able to accommodate us. The park is clean, quiet and well maintained. We have enjoyed the community and the perks of the park. Glenn is also full of kindness. 5 Stars all day. Next time we are in the area there won’t be a doubt where we stay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you!

Highly recommend this camp site . Beautiful Lakeview. Swimming area has slide and diving board. My daughter caught a blue gill within 10 min . With a net. The man who runs the place is kind, caring and helpful . My father n law stays down there . He was not answering, so I was worried. I called and asked him to check on him. He literally got back with me within 5 min. To let me know he was OK. Amazing man. Amazing place.

Visited 2 evenings with friends that were staying here. It was a very quiet, relaxing evening. Everyone was very friendly. I think we may be visiting here ourselves.

Quite small RV park. Sites are a little close to each other. But it is between 3 lakes. Nice view
