Laverne County Park (Coos County Park)
Overview
Laverne County Park offers a quintessential Pacific Northwest escape nestled along the banks of the North Fork Coquille River. This Coos County destination provides a serene retreat from the bustle of coastal traffic, inviting RVers to relax under a canopy of towering trees. It serves as a peaceful basecamp for those looking to immerse themselves in Oregon’s lush, natural beauty while enjoying well-maintained facilities and easy riverfront access for a relaxing stay.
Location & Surroundings
Situated approximately 15 miles north of the city of Coquille, the park is surrounded by the verdant hills and timberlands of Western Oregon. The drive to the park is incredibly scenic, following the winding path of the river through rural landscapes. The atmosphere here is defined by the sound of flowing water and the rustle of Douglas firs, making it feel like a secluded woodland sanctuary despite being easily accessible for most modern RVs.

The park features a variety of sites, including many equipped with water and electrical hookups to accommodate comfortable camping. Visitors have access to clean restrooms, hot showers, and a convenient dump station located on-site. One of the standout features is the large swimming hole, which is a popular spot during the warm summer months. The park also provides multiple group picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and a playground, ensuring a functional and fun environment for all ages.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do right at their doorstep, with the river providing excellent opportunities for seasonal fishing and kayaking. For those willing to venture out, the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast is just a short drive away, offering access to the dunes and beaches of Coos Bay. The nearby Fairview-Bandon scenic route is a must-drive for those who enjoy exploring hidden backroads and the picturesque, rolling valleys of the region.
Who This Park Is Best For
Laverne County Park is ideal for families and travelers who appreciate a rustic, river-centric atmosphere rather than a paved resort. It is a fantastic choice for anglers looking to spend time on the water or for RVers seeking a quiet, natural environment to disconnect from digital life. If you prefer the shade of old-growth trees and the charm of a traditional county park, this location offers the perfect balance of comfort and wilderness exploration.

Very good park here, peaceful and greeny with a small waterfall along the park. There is plenty of space for sitting around and grills for cooking too. Restrooms are available and they are very clean.

We camped for 3 nights/4 days. The camp it's self was awesome. Unfortunately other campers not so much. Loud music and partying till almost 3 am. Leaving beer cans and trash everywhere for others to pick up. Tried to walk our dogs (leashed) only to be approached by other campers telling us there dogs were not friendly and not to walk by there camp because there dogs don't have a leash. Other then that hosts were awesome and park was great

I loved staying here it is very beautiful. And the park is kept up well. The showers are very nice. And we were able to see the river right from our camp site. And its very easy to get down to the river. The prices are great. We will definitely stay again.

Its an ok place. The camping has been full evertime our family is in the day use area but the spaces seem tight fitting to me. The river is right next to the park and there is clean restrooms.
