We are KOA members and stay at them all the time. We love them all. This is the only campground that you cannot park WITH your camper. We arrived this evening. It’s raining, I had to park my vehicle far away. Then a staff member rudely told my husband he needed to move his truck as well because a part of his tire was on their not well kept grass.

This is a great KOA. We arrived with a dead battery on our tow vehicle which we tried charging ourselves and we were not successful. The gentleman with the longer blonde hair was so helpful and brought a lithium battery charger that started our Jeep right up. Sites were nice and level super friendly staff we’re also professional. They even experienced a Water Main break on our row and tried everything possible to make sure that we had at least 3/4 tank of fresh since we were going to the track to watch NASCAR. We will definitely be back.

As we were destined for Lawrence, this was a good location. However, the train and nearby concert venue noise were irritating. The sites are too short and way to close to each other, and the roads too narrow. Looks like a good place for families -- many amenities. It is NOT necessary to list every single campground rule during check-in. Point out the highlights, and refer to the brochure handed out. P.S. - Though this park refers to itself as Kansas City West, it is actually 39 miles away from KC.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We found this KOA in Lawrence, Kansas, on our way home from Colorado and booked it last minute for an overnight stay. I wish we could have stayed longer! The campground is absolutely beautiful—very clean, well-maintained, with lush green grass everywhere. The store had everything we needed, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even though we arrived right before closing. Restrooms were spotless, and the sunrise in the morning was stunning. Highly recommend this campground to anyone—don’t hesitate to book your stay. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This looks like a great KOA for families. I have a wife and four kids. Was gonna be a fantastic five days for the kids and I. I would still recommend taking your family here. Very Clean! I would never do an after hours check in. Experience was horrible. What could have been easily resolved, ended with the Sheriff showing up because they said I threw merchandise at the employee behind counter. After further review this was found to be false and I was on my way. They still took my payment and are not refunding it.

The staff work really hard to maintain the site. BUT trains almost pass by every 30 minutes, and you can constantly hear the sound of cars on the highway. You'll understand why they provide free earplugs. It's also a bit disappointing that the sites are placed so close together.

This place is full of gravel, mud, uneven sites, and tiny patches of grass here and there. The sites are quite small and your slide may be only feet away from the camper next to you. We expected better for the price!! If you need a place off the interstate to sleep for the night, the WiFi works well, and the water pressure is good. But I can't see anyone choosing this place for a camping outing. Oh, and wash your hands well after putting your water and electric away, the ground may be covered with feces you think is mud.

My husband and I just finished an 8 week stay here. Everyone who works at the campground as well as the owner is super friendly. We dealt with Calvin a lot and he was fantastic. The location is conveniently located near Lawrence, a college town, which has tons of shops and restaurants. Laundry on site was convenient. It is more expensive but we stayed there because it was easy to get propane delivered or refilled for our first round of snow camping. The only downsides would be that the laundry machines require quarters, which you can get at the office if you have cash, but there's no way to get cash on the premises. And the closest ATM is 2 miles away. I also loved that they had free showers available but the doors open inwards to the stall so you literally can't have your bag in the stall with you and you have to step back into the shower to get out of the stall. Yes. There is a train close by and it's loud and running all hours of the night. I bought silicone ear plugs and had zero issues. Overall we enjoyed our stay, thought the employees and managers were great, and loved the location.

Sites are too short and too narrow. Driving lanes are too narrow for longer rigs (we have 41 foot 5th wheel) Our rv plus truck just barely fit in the space, and we couldn’t open our popups all the way). Roads and site could use refreshed gravel. Close to I70, but in an industrial area. Was able to reserve via telephone -glad we did because the park was pretty full on a Friday in March. Would not choose this park again.

I recently stayed at a KOA cabin, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. It had everything I needed, from clean bedding to basic kitchen supplies, making it feel like a true home away from home. The surrounding area was beautiful, with plenty of amenities like a pool, playground, and walking trails. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and I especially enjoyed the evening campfire activities. I also appreciated how quiet and peaceful the campgrounds were at night, allowing me to fully unwind after a day of exploring. KOA's attention to detail and commitment to providing a great guest experience really shone through. I can’t wait to come back for another visit and would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a fun, clean, and hassle-free getaway!
