The proximity to showers and a restaurant is in theory great, but the campground itself is a grass field next to a Casino, full of giant campers with no privacy and very little shade. Definitely not “nature”. We had reserved ahead of time but once we saw it we left to find another campsite. Thankfully it was cheap so we didn’t lose much.

Buffalo Bay Marina is by far the best spot to have a boat at the Apostle Islands! The proximity and amenities like a restaurant, pool and hot tub are just some of the reasons I love it here. The staff is always doing there best to make this little piece of paradise spectacular!

Catching up on helpful Google reviews from previous stays. I usually place reviews on Campendium for RV parks. ---------------- Good location. Campground has a comfy natural setting but could use some maintenance/upkeep. Stayed 2 nights in mid-July 2023. Site type: Back-in, water and electric (50 amp) with grass 3 stars solely because of the location on the water. $45/night 3 nights Site #11 THE GOOD: Town is close: Bayfield is only 7 ish minutes away. Gas/Food: Gas is right near the campground (1-2 min) The view: from behind our site was amazing and you can just drop in a kayak about 100 feet away. THE BAD: Site 21: We had a planned move to this site but it is positioned perpendicular to the other sites and very awkward. See satellite view before booking as an FYI. WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad) Sites: All sites are water and electric only. Oddly shaped sites that are tighter than most. Check-in: Go directly to the casino check-in desk. Connectivity: AT&T only and is minimal. Better site views: Choose sites 09, 07, and 05 if you would like to have a campfire with a view on the water.

A hidden gem of a campsite! Originally we had our doubts due to it's close proximity to the Casino, but all tent sites are neatly tucked away from view of the building. The views that are provided are absolutely gorgeous, as each site is placed directly on the lake. Indoor showers and bathrooms are provided as well for free with a reservation! Tent campsites are $33, tax included.

Loved it here. We had site 1 right on the lake and it was beautiful. It was great to sit out by the fire, next to the lake, and see the Apostle islands stretch off into the distance. It is a short drive to Bayfield, which is a nice little town with plenty of restaurants and shops to peruse. We did the Apostle Islands tour from there as well which was well worth the price. Nice little casino onsite as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will come back if we plan another trip to this area.

Last fall I booked a room at their off season, supposedly at reduced price. When I called to book the room I called the casino phone number not knowing they were transferring my call to hotels.com. When I saw the charge on my account, it was $50.00 more than it should have been. When we arrived to check in we told the hotel desk clerk about this and she really didn't know anything about how this happened or how to fix it. We were told to tell the head desk clerk the next day which we did and were told that they did owe us the $50. Never saw that. I called the casino hotel a couple weeks later and they told me they don't have access to hotels.com, I'd have to call them. Hotels.com wouldn't do anything about it either. We didn't know the restaurant was closed either or nowhere to eat. That was a disappointment too. Had to drive to the next town to find something that was open. We've stayed here before and always had a good experience, never again!

Went to one of their events- the tattoo expo on March 19,2022. Before even going there I looked at their advertisements because I wanted to bring my husband and kids. No where did they mention 18 and older only. I even called the casino and spoke to a front desk person, again asking about bringing the kids. Was told it should be fine. Cool. We make time to go and hopefully can get the hubby his tattoo he has been wanting. We get there and walk-in at the door closest to the entry. We make it 1/3 of the room and we’re heading toward a booth when a security guard rushes toward us and says no kids. I ask “why?”, he stutters “only 18 and older” and points to a sign on a stand. Near a separate pair of doors that you would need to be right in front of to be able to see. I ask again “why?”. He kinda mumbled and said no kids again. We were heading out and he says “Don’t ask any questions.” Well, I am asking ALL the questions. Why was your staffed not trained to answer the Whys? Of not bringing kids in? Why did the security guard deem it appropriate to state “Don’t ask any questions.” As we were heading out….. Why did your front desk person not know that kids were not allowed? Why did your advertising not state this was a 18+ event anywhere? Why make an event NOT kid friendly since they can be brought into an event by a responsible adult? So many questions to be had….

Our family loved our room and the rates were very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We were unable to take advantage of the pool, restaurant or gaming areas at all because of prior commitments, but we hope to return soon and spend our time just relaxing at LW instead of running elsewhere all weekend. Thanks to everyone there for our great experience! ❤❤❤
