What a nice place to hike!! Lots of pretty scenery and a decent number of hills. Make sure to bring lots of water because the trails are very sun-exposed. The park ranger we talked to was very friendly!

A very nice state park to visit, I travel out here every summer with a huge group of friends and family for camp and the trails in the park are very nice. Lots of different ones to ride all around. The showers are also a very nice amenity as well with The big corrals and the camping spots are nice too even for just hiking on the trails is pretty nice as well not too far from town if you have to make a drive out.

Only stayed here one night on the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. What a gem! Nice campsites with 50/30/20A electric. Each site has picnic table and fire ring. Water spigots but not individual water hookups. Nice showers - free for campers. Vault toilets. Dump station. Picnic shelters. This was designed as a campground for folks with trail horses - there are corrals and horse trails. Not much shade, but beautiful grass throughout. Beautiful views of Little Missouri Badlands area.

It's a long gravel road in but The view of the Killdeer mountains is beautiful! There's not much for shade in the campsites. There's a picnic table and fire pit by most the sites. There's corrals for horses if you bring yours and want to ride trails. Staff is very nice. Pit toilets and pay showers were clean. You can buy ice and firewood on site. We rented a tent site with electric for $15.
