Looks like a great place to bring the family on an RV trip ,nice play ground for young children, volleyball court for the older ones.float down the creek with the family. Walk the hiking trails which are well taken care of .Have a great cookout.Nice clean picnic area's all over the Reserve. Beautiful lake, with a floating Pavillion. All in all a nice quite place for old and young a like .There were a lot of older couples with there RV's all through the park area.large RV lots.

It was a nice, quiet, and peaceful one night stay. About 15 miles off the interstate. Well worth the short drive to enjoy the peacefulness.

There is a small fee to get in. I have an annual pass so I don't remember the price but it is very small, around $2-$4. The campgrounds were very nice and in the trees. They had electric and water. A river went thru it and it had tubing. I also saw kayaks or canoes also but I don't know the cost. When I was there in September, they were closed. They had several campgrounds spaced around the area and a section for tents. We didn't see any trails but the campground and road was good for walking or biking.

Very disappointed drove over and hour to tube. Since it was finally pretty weather and a good water level. Only to find out once when get there that they decided to stop to tubing on weekdays. But it is not posted anywhere to inform anyone of that change.

Very good park for camping, tubing, kayaking, swimming in the shallow creeks. Not for hiking. The place list hiking trails as an amenity but their are no hiking trails available. They claim walking on the roadways as hiking. They do offer horse stables but the only place to ride them is on the roads. Kind of steep prices to enter park. Overall, for a day of family outing, this park is a good place to take the small children to swim and have fun. I would suggest the park have more frequent emptying of trash around the creek areas, the garbage had been overflowed and was all over the ground at two locations. The employees were very friendly and helpful and I asked an overwhelming amount of questions. I appreciated all the help in maneuvering the park. Would be a great place to camp in spring and summer. They offer RV hookups, primivative camping, also water and eletric hookup camping. Looking forward to returning next summer. Really wish they would invest in hiking trails in the future.

Not the lazy paddle I was looking for. This river reminds me of the bogue chitto in how shallow it is for most of the run within the park. You can stand in most of the river and not be waist deep. That makes for some swift currents and difficult paddling. In most cases when it was too shallow and/or the current was too strong you can just walk it. I almost made it from the beach to the bridge, but the *rapids wore me out and then the rain the thunder started. I gave up and floated back down with the rest of the families. This is definitely more of a floating than paddling situation. The park itself is large with rv and primitive camping sites. There are playgrounds and covered seating, plus a bathroom with showers and laundry. They have tube rentals, you can't use your own. Unlike the chitto, this river is clear of large trees or obstructions other than the limestone croppings. It was $5 for the day use, and the staff was pleasant.

We were camping with friends for thanksgiving. Large full hookup lots, level and ours backed up to the lake for fishing.
