McCormick Park
Overview
McCormick Park provides a welcoming atmosphere for RV travelers seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of rural Idaho. Managed by the city, this site serves as a vital community hub where visitors can enjoy lush green spaces and the calming sounds of the nearby water. It is not a sprawling commercial resort but rather a well-maintained local gem that captures the essence of small-town hospitality. Whether you are arriving for a weekend of fishing or just passing through, the park offers a clean and quiet environment to rest and recharge under the vast Idaho sky.
Location & Surroundings
Located directly in Cambridge, ID, the park is nestled along the scenic banks of the Weiser River. Its position makes it a convenient stop for those traveling along US Route 95, a primary corridor for exploring the Pacific Northwest. The surrounding area is characterized by rolling hills, expansive farmland, and the rugged beauty of the Idaho backcountry. Guests will appreciate the unobstructed views of the mountains and the easy walking distance to local services within the charming town center, providing a perfect blend of isolation and convenience.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility caters to modern travelers with several RV sites featuring electricity, including 30 and 50-amp options to accommodate different rig sizes. Each site typically includes a sturdy picnic table and access to communal fire rings for evening gatherings. Visitors have access to well-maintained restroom facilities and potable water sources. While the park maintains a rustic and simple feel, the presence of an on-site playground and open grassy fields makes it a functional and comfortable choice for families traveling with pets or children.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, as the park is a primary access point for the Weiser River National Recreation Trail. This 84-mile trail is a haven for cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders looking to explore the region's diverse landscapes. For those interested in water sports, the park serves as a gateway to the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, where legendary rafting and jet boat tours await. Fishing in the nearby river or taking a short drive to Brownlee Reservoir provides ample opportunities for anglers to test their skills in world-class waters.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an excellent match for self-contained RVers who value natural beauty and direct trail access over high-end luxury amenities. It is a favorite for active outdoor adventurers who plan to spend their days on the rail trail or exploring the nearby canyonlands. If you are looking for a community-oriented, budget-friendly stopover that highlights the rustic charm of Idaho, McCormick Park offers exactly the right balance of utility and scenery for your next road trip through Washington County.

Great camping just north of Brownlee Dam. Right were highway 71 crosses over the Snake River from Idaho to Oregon. Full hookups for power and water. Dump station there on site. Back-in RV spots and some tent-only spots, too. Most spots are not shaded, but there are large areas of grass with shade trees. It is very hot there. Boat launch. We found great fishing from shore. Bathroom with shower. Great hosts - even went around giving Tootsie pop suckers to everyone!!!
