Went planning to camp closer to Brushy Lake, but it was already full, we were really glad tho when we found Mc Dougle camp. Had perfect spot for our tent, a picnic table, and fire pit. It was close to rode but wasn't that loud. We will definitely go back!!

Great quick primitive camping area right off the road. Road truck traffic is a little noisy in the early morning.

Perfect beautiful temperature and weather. Coyotes got very close to camp, and it made us anxious. Also, my son picked up ticks while we were there. There were also chiggers and tons of spiders. Beautiful fireflies that lot up the forest at night. We treated all of our gear with permitherin. We are going to pretreat our clothing next time too. Deet is your friend in these woods.

Nice campsite my only complaint is it's a little too close to the road
