Midway RV Park

Overview

Midway RV Park offers a welcoming and well-maintained environment for travelers exploring Northern California. Located in the heart of Solano County, this park provides a comfortable home base for those moving between the major urban centers of Sacramento and San Francisco. It strikes a balance between convenient interstate access and a peaceful, rural atmosphere. Visitors often appreciate the mature trees and landscaped grounds that offer a much-needed break from the highway's hustle during a long trip.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just off Interstate 80 in Vacaville, the park lives up to its name by being centrally located between several major northern destinations. The surrounding landscape features a mix of agricultural fields and rolling hills, typical of the scenic Sacramento Valley region. Its proximity to Travis Air Force Base makes it a popular spot for military families. While the park feels secluded, it is only a short drive from the shopping hubs and diverse dining options found in downtown Vacaville and nearby Dixon.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate a variety of rig sizes with full hookups including both 30 and 50-amp service. Guests can enjoy several essential features during their stay:

  • Spacious pull-through sites for easy maneuvering of larger motorhomes and trailers.
  • A refreshing seasonal swimming pool and a community clubhouse for relaxation.
  • Clean laundry facilities and well-maintained restrooms to ensure a comfortable visit.

The park is also pet-friendly, featuring designated areas for four-legged travelers to stretch their legs on the grass.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

There is no shortage of activities within a short drive of the park. Shoppers will find paradise at the Vacaville Premium Outlets and the historic Nut Tree Plaza. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Lagoon Valley Park offers hiking trails and scenic views just minutes away. Being roughly halfway between the state capital and the Bay Area, guests can easily plan day trips to the Napa Valley wine country or explore the historic waterfront charm of Benicia.

Who This Park Is Best For

Midway RV Park is an ideal choice for long-haul travelers looking for a reliable and quiet stopover along the I-80 corridor. It is particularly well-suited for families who appreciate on-site recreation like a pool and those traveling with pets who need a little extra space. Because of its central location, it also serves as a perfect hub for extended-stay visitors who need a consistent base to explore both the urban attractions of the Bay Area and the natural beauty of the valley.

Nice older park, very clean, lots of large trees for shade. Seth the park manager is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. If in the area I would definitely stay again.

We liked this RV Park in Vacaville, CA. It’s an “urban” kind of RV Park. Most of the sites here are long term residents. Some of the residents work at Travis Air Force Base. There are trees and shade, but no grass, all gravel. Lots of very big rigs here. Sites are level and pull-through, very close to each other, but it all works. The big rigs are new and well-cared for, but there are some smaller, very old, dilapidated RV’s that are falling apart. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean, just like home. The laundry is very nice and also clean. There is a small playground and a small pool that looks clean. The internet is a bit slow, but otherwise works. The one thing we didn’t have that virtually all other campgrounds provide is a picnic table. That would have been nice. One thing that is off-putting is a rig that has a big display of the American flag along with the Confederate Flag. Most campgrounds prohibit signs, flags, or any kind of display that could be considered offensive. We’ve actually stayed at campgrounds where a new camper arrived with a similar display with a Confederate flag, and the new campers hardly had it in the air before the campground shut it down. Obviously, the display of the Confederate Flag by a camper does not necessarily reflect the views of the owner/manager of the campground, but when it’s not shut down, a racist vibe lingers in the air.

Seth was by far and away the best person we've met in California so far. The facilities at this park are top tier and had we not already had plans to move on we could've easily stayed and made ourselves at home. Felt very welcome and comfortable.

I’m really happy we were able to book this place and to stay here for about a month. It’s a very nice, remote location but same time close to wherever you need to get. Even you have many spots around, it’s really calm, silent and clean. I would recommend it for everyone! Special thanks to Seth for being so helpful and accommodating. Ron

Management is professional. Park is clean and has nice trees, checks all the boxes you want out of an RV park.

We stayed here longterm while stationed nearby at the military base. The staff is fabulous and kind. The park is well maintained with a pool, small park, and tons of fruit trees that we loved! Our spot was spacious and the road was recently redone while we were there. Friendly people and a safe feeling park! Would recommend for sure!

A nice campground/ RV park with large trees and friendly people. Some of the spots are a lot bigger than others, and some easier to get into and out of than others.
