Miller Lake Campground
Overview
Miller Lake Campground is a family-owned retreat that captures the essence of a classic Michigan summer. Located in the quiet community of Hopkins, this park offers a balanced mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. It is centered around a private spring-fed lake, providing a tranquil backdrop for visitors looking to escape the bustle of daily life. The park maintains a welcoming atmosphere where generations of families return to enjoy the natural beauty of the Allegan County countryside in a relaxed, community-focused environment.
Location & Surroundings
Situated conveniently between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, the park is easily accessible from US-131. Despite its proximity to major transit routes, the campground feels secluded, surrounded by rolling hills and lush woodlands. The landscape is dominated by the clear waters of Miller Lake, which defines the layout of the property. Guests can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature while being only a short drive away from local farm markets and charming small-town amenities that define the West Michigan experience.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground is equipped to handle a variety of setups, offering full hookup RV sites alongside more traditional tent areas. Water enthusiasts will appreciate the sandy swimming beach and the opportunities for catch-and-release fishing on the lake. On-site facilities include a clean bathhouse, a dedicated playground for children, and a well-stocked camp store for essentials. For those who enjoy active recreation, the park features courts for basketball and volleyball, ensuring there is always something to do during your stay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park gates, the region offers diverse entertainment. Nature lovers can explore the extensive trail systems at Yankee Springs Recreation Area, while those looking for excitement might visit the nearby Gun Lake Casino. During the winter months, the area serves as a base for visitors to Bittersweet Ski Resort. Additionally, the local breweries and museums of Grand Rapids provide excellent day-trip opportunities for those wanting to explore the cultural and culinary highlights of the region.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for families seeking a traditional camping experience where the focus is on outdoor play and shared memories. It appeals to RVers who prefer a slower pace and the intimacy of a smaller, privately owned facility over a massive commercial resort. Anglers and swimmers will find the private lake access especially rewarding. It is a great choice for travelers who want a centralized home base for exploring the broader West Michigan landscape while enjoying quiet nights.

My first year in an RV camping and I came here in July. It is such a wonderful gem. Small and clean a full of fun friendly people. I’m solo so when i had questions or needed help, someone was there. Mgmt couldn’t be more sweet and accommodating. Even the weekenders are great and have been coming here for years. I found my Michigan Campground. 🌈🩵

This was our 2nd year here and it was a great time once again. We will be back next year. The campground is all very clean and everyone is always very friendly.

Owners are super nice. Sites are a little small, but they are very nice. The bathhouse is newly renovated, however the showers could use a small table or shelf to put your toiletries on so they dont get wet. There is a ton of wildlife. We had a wonderful time

Great camping for everyone. Beautiful lake. Nice clean facilities. Sixty dollars a night is affordable and worth it.

Everyone seems to have smile! The owner always believes it’s “Good Times,” his family and him work diligently together to keep the grounds in perfect condition. A great place to meet friends, make some great memories with family, and a great place to find a little peace of you desire.

Labor Day weekend I emailed them asking about any openings. They responded promptly saying they did and to come out. Once we got here, they showed us the open sites they had and let us choose which one we wanted! We got one right by the beach which is perfect for our kids! Very friendly! We got right in here. Love it! Will be back! Tons of things for kids to do, it’s safe, family oriented and lots of fun! Thank you to the staff for welcoming us with open arms!!

I really enjoyed Miller lake Campground. We got in late on Thursday Night at around 11:30 PM. The Manager Brady couldn't have been any Nicer and He even offered to help me set up my Tent. We only stayed 1 night before heading up to Sleeping Bear Dunes but the site was right by the water and beach. I highly recommend this Campground to anyone who wants to camp around Kalamazoo & Grand Rapids. Good Times as Brady would say! Thanks, Chris & Sherry Marckel

A awesome campground that lets you enjoy a late night fire and music. The kids absolutely love the beach and playground. The staff is the best you could wish for.
