The campground is designed to accommodate various travel styles, featuring spacious pull-thru sites that are ideal for larger rigs and easy maneuvering. On-site amenities include:

  • A heated seasonal swimming pool and mini-golf course.
  • The KampK9 dog park for pet exercise.
  • A well-stocked general store and laundry facilities.
The park also provides bike rentals and firewood, making it easy to enjoy traditional creek-side campfires after a day of exploring.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

This park is perfectly positioned for visitors heading to the turquoise waters of Bear Lake, often called the Caribbean of the Rockies for its vibrant color. History enthusiasts can explore the National Oregon Trail Center located right in town. For those seeking underground wonders, the Minnetonka Cave offers guided tours through impressive limestone formations, while nearby Bloomington Lake provides excellent hiking and high-elevation scenery.

Who This Park Is Best For

Such a great little park! Very close to Montpelier but far enough away to really feel like you're camping. We enjoyed the nature trail around the perimeter. The highlight was Jeanne, the camp host - she was friendly and helpful! She even checked on us when a storm briefly knocked the power out.

We stayed one night here in early oct. This was the best KOA we have ever been to. The site is very very cozy. It is surrounded by rolling hills and the spot we got, no 33, is located just next to a small creek. Our kids enjoyed playing by the creek and on the nature trail and on the playground. The bathroom is very clean and the playground is for all ages. The manger is very lovely and welcoming. We can definitely recommend this KOA.

We are so happy we chose your KOA in Montpelier to stay! The price was very affordable and the amenities were great…those we needed and so much more for our enjoyment if we had stayed in the area longer. The staff was very helpful and able to answer all my questions before we arrived. We loved the small town feel of it. We used the laundry for a load of clothes and the price of it was much more reasonable than many places we’ve been. Everything was incredibly clean, organized and easy to find. Thank you so much…Hope to see you again!

Had a lovely stay in at the Montpelier KOA. We stayed in a class A motorhome in July. Jeanine was a wonderful host. She was friendly, helpful, and always had a smile on her face. Very kind and accommodating which made us feel at home. Was a very hot weekend but the pool was cool and refreshing. Ours site had ample space and a bit of shade which was great because the sun was HOT. We had a nice picnic table and fire ring. We took a walk along the creek and enjoyed the rushing water. Our children liked the park and met some friends to play with. BEST laundry at only $2/wash + $2/dry. We'd definitely stay again if we were passing through the area.

This KOA campground In Montpelier, Idaho was awesome. It was easy to get in and out, hookups were in excellent condition and easy to access. The sites are practically level and smooth. I enjoyed talking with the staff. Friendly, efficient, and helpful.

Jeanne and Evielynne Deserve a Standing Ovation! Jeanne and Evielynne have made a huge improvement to this KOA. Their dedication and hard work have truly transformed the property—and it shows! The grounds have never looked better, and everything is maintained with care and pride. My wife and I stay here several times a year and always come for our anniversary in early May. We started out in the riverside cabins, which are peaceful and charming. After buying a trailer, we now stay in the pull-through sites, which are just as fantastic. The entire campground is spotlessly clean—from the sites to the restrooms and showers. We’ve always loved this place, but Jeanne and Evielynne have taken it to another level. Their customer service is outstanding—always going above and beyond. This KOA has become even more special to us, thanks to them. Big shout-out to both of you—your work has not gone unnoticed!

We stayed at this campground in a travel trailer for one night in October while traveling coast to coast. It was dark when we arrived and we left early the next morning so we didn't have time to enjoy the amenities. However, our site was very large with a permanent picnic table. We did use the laundry facilities and shower facilites and they were all clean. The hot water in the shower was fantastic! We would stay at this campground again if the opportunity arose.

Issac was beyond helpful getting us set up. We had a bit of a scheduling mishap and Issac did amazing in helping us rectify our mistake and save the holiday weekend. Thanks so much to Issac and his lovely family. Lori was super friendly and helpful also. The park was very clean and well maintained. They are expanding their park so there is some work being done but nothing that is bothersome. The bathrooms are nice and clean. There are lots of activities for the family and kids to play and do. There are washers and dryers to use. The showers are nice and warm. There is a pool that the kids loved going to. And it is a nice place to take a cool dip on a hot summer day. There are nice little nature walks to take next to the cute little stream that runs next to the park. And last but not least, there even an activity for my wife's favorite child, the four-legged one. They have a good sized dog run for your pet to have a little off leash time.
