Mt Baker-Snoqualmie/Marble Creek

Overview

Marble Creek Campground offers a secluded escape within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Located near the banks of the Cascade River, this rustic destination provides a quintessential Pacific Northwest experience. Visitors find themselves surrounded by a lush canopy of old-growth forest, where the sound of the rushing water creates a peaceful backdrop for a traditional camping getaway. The campground is nestled among giant trees, offering a deep sense of immersion in the Cascades far from the noise of city life.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just outside Marblemount, Washington, the park sits along the Cascade River Road, a scenic gateway into the heart of the mountains. The surrounding landscape is defined by towering western red cedars and moss-draped hemlocks. The drive to the park is an experience in itself, winding through dense greenery and crossing over mountain streams. This high-elevation setting offers cooler temperatures during the summer months, and its proximity to the North Cascades National Park boundary adds to the sense of wilderness.

Amenities & Park Features

As a traditional Forest Service site, the amenities here focus on providing a primitive experience. There are no utility hookups, so RVers should arrive prepared for dry camping. The campground features paved loops that accommodate smaller rigs and trailers. Sites are spaced generously to ensure privacy, allowing you to enjoy the forest without feeling crowded by neighbors. Each site is equipped with a heavy-duty picnic table and a fire ring, while shared facilities include vault toilets and access to potable water.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless opportunities for adventure just minutes away. The Cascade River is a popular spot for fishing and scenic photography. For hikers, the nearby Cascade Pass Trail offers some of the most stunning alpine views in the region. Wildlife viewing is another highlight, as the area is home to deer, eagles, and various mountain species. The town of Marblemount serves as a convenient base for grabbing supplies before heading deeper into the rugged wilderness.

Who This Park Is Best For

Marble Creek is ideal for travelers who prefer solitude and natural beauty over modern resort luxuries. It is best suited for owners of smaller RVs, camper vans, or rooftop tents who are comfortable without electricity or sewer connections. It appeals most to those who appreciate the simplicity of mountain living and the 'leave no trace' philosophy. If you are looking to unplug and reconnect with the environment while exploring Washington's most majestic forest regions, this quiet campground is a perfect match.

Great little campground. We stayed at site 14. Sites felt spread out enough for privacy and they had designated areas to set up tents in each site. Some sites are right up against the Cascade River and others are not. Number 9 seemed like a big site w/ plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. Bathroom situation was pit toilets. There is no potable water here so make sure you bring your own!! Otherwise, was a relaxing, secluded, beautiful campground with great access to lots of hiking. * There is no cell service *

Can't wait to go back. There was an excellent next to the campsite with a great Sandy Beach. The spacing of campsites was great and a tree cover was very Northwest. The tent sites all had a pre-poured pad with sand on them. Very nice campsite- my first in a national park so maybe that's why? But I was impressed!

Beautiful and remote. Camping spots are very private with lots of space. One of the better campgrounds I've stayed at (no cell phone coverage if that matters to you, was a plus for me).

We wanted to find a campground along the 20 and found a fabulous little spot on the Cascade River; Marble Creek Campground. The campground is an 8 mile drive from Marblemount on a paved road, Cascade River Road. Then, the road to reach the campground is not paved. There are only about 24 reservable sites and 4 FF sites. We reserved campsite # 21, no hookups, no dump station. Beautiful, quiet campground surrounded with trees with short walks to the swim beach near site #8. Some campsites are right on the Cascade River. Some campers used Marble Creek Campground as a base for longer, more strenuous hikes such as to Lookout Mountain and Hidden Lake.

Clean, quiet and convenient! The cleanest pit toilets I’ve ever experienced! On the banks of the cascade river with a beautiful beach and great views. If you’re hiking Hidden Lake or Cascade Pass this campground is close to both. Friendly hosts that offer firewood for sale on site.

Lovely little campground deep in the mountains. Nicest pit toilets I've ever seen. Kinda buggy, bring a good spray. Tent pads are sand and very comfortable. The river beach is fantastic, but without shade so be prepared. There are a few first come first serve spots, even if reservations are full it might be worth the trip. Close to a ton of day hikes and day-use park areas.

The host was so helpful! I messed up the reservation on Memorial weekend and we only going to be able to stay for one night. The host was so awesome and let me know that a new site opened up that was not on the reservation site yet. Bathrooms were clean, the new site was awesome! It is way back in the woods but so peaceful.
