Mt Baker-Snoqualmie/Panorama Point
Overview
Nestled on the scenic shores of Baker Lake, the Panorama Point Campground within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest offers a classic Pacific Northwest camping experience. Unlike commercial resorts, this destination prioritizes natural beauty and a quiet atmosphere. Visitors are drawn to the park for its unparalleled views of the surrounding peaks and the pristine glacial waters of the lake, creating a peaceful retreat far from the noise of the city.
Location & Surroundings
Located just north of Concrete, WA, the park is situated deep within a landscape of towering evergreens and rugged mountains. The north shore of Baker Lake serves as the primary backdrop, providing a sense of seclusion and serenity. The drive into the forest involves winding roads that reveal the immense scale of the Cascade Range, making the journey as visually rewarding as the destination itself for those traveling by RV.
Amenities & Park Features
As a National Forest site, the amenities focus on the essentials for dry camping. RVers will find paved parking pads that can accommodate various rig sizes, though there are no utility hookups available on-site. Each site typically includes a heavy-duty picnic table and a fire ring for evening gatherings. On-site facilities are limited to vault toilets and hand-pumped potable water, encouraging a self-sufficient boondocking style of travel while enjoying the great outdoors.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Water recreation is the primary draw here, with easy access to a concrete boat ramp for motorized and non-motorized vessels. Anglers often frequent the lake for its famous salmon and trout populations. For those who prefer land-based adventures, the Baker Lake Trail offers miles of shoreline hiking through lush, old-growth forests. The nearby town of Concrete provides a glimpse into local history and serves as a convenient stop for essential supplies and fuel.
Who This Park Is Best For
This location is ideal for travelers who value scenic solitude over modern luxuries. It is a perfect fit for self-contained RVers who enjoy dry camping and want to wake up to views of Mount Baker reflecting off the water. If you are looking for a basecamp for rugged outdoor exploration and primitive camping rather than a social resort atmosphere, Panorama Point delivers an authentic connection to the Washington wilderness.

Great location. Several sites have water access. We were able to pull our kayaks right up to our site and tie them up overnight. There was about a 5 ft climb from the water to the site. Clean bathrooms. Nice and quiet at night. Campground is right in the middle of the lake where it bends. Boat ramp was busy.

We made the long lousy drive 257 miles with kayaks on the roof, over 5 hours due to Tacoma and Seattle traffic from Vancouver, WA to come here. If I forget the drive up and the campsite I booked, this place is great. We stayed in 010, and that one is a bit disappointing. There's 0 privacy and the bathroom is 20 feet away, so everyone can look into your campsite. When the wind is right, you can smell it too. However, the lane and scenery and the overall atmosphere is incredible. Beautiful. We stayed one night out of 3 due to some issues, but it was 80% worth the drive. Oh, and if you come during the salmon run like we did, be prepared for the incessant noisy boat traffic on the lake at 3 am. I don't know if we'll be back, but if you're coming from closer in and don't mind terrible traffic, you won't be disappointed.

Best camping site I've been to, by far. The lake is spectacular, both during daytime and night time! Beautiful views and quiet sites far enough away from tour neighbors. You have to book in advance or else hope to get a walk up site. All sites are great, we've stayed at 3 of them but 6 is our favorite. Bathrooms are always as clean as they can be for a campsite.

First of all! Massive shout out to the camp hosts! The sites were all clean and maintained! We picked up a nail on the way in from Seattle and Josh, the host, had a tire plug kit handy and saved us from a flat!!! Great boating and camp sites. Even the day use area is super awesome! Come check it out

Best camping site I've been to, by far. The lake is spectacular, both during daytime and night time (try and find the hidden bench behind the trees). Gave it only 4 stars only because the camp host is terrible, and doesn't make sure the pumped water is drinkable (went to Horseshoe Cove Campground, 4 miles down the road to fill up some water)

Beautiful grounds and quiet. The day use area has a picnic table and a few spots to enjoy a quick lunch and get some sun.

Absolutely beautiful site. We stayed 2 nights if Memorial Day Weekend 2021, the weather was perfect. We were in group site 12 and had friends in site 13, if it were strangers in 13 we'd definitely be able to see into their campsite from the fire pit. The bathrooms (drop toilets) were incredibly clean, I saw someone on other Saturday and Sunday cleaning them with actual disinfectant, not sure if this is standard or Covid protocols, but I hope it stays. The host site has bundles of wood for $8 but we bought wood at the Baker Lake Grocery gas station right before the turn off for the campgrounds, prices of wood were $8/10. Highly recommend this campground, we'll definitely be back
