Visitors will find a well-maintained environment that prioritizes quiet nights and scenic vistas for a relaxing stay.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just a short drive from Mountain Home, Arkansas, Panther Bay Park sits on a peninsula surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of Norfork Lake. The surrounding terrain is characterized by the rugged, timbered hills of the Ozarks, providing a picturesque backdrop for every campsite. The park's proximity to the main lake body ensures refreshing breezes and easy navigation for boaters. Its location offers a perfect balance between secluded natural beauty and convenient access to the regional services found in the nearby city center.
Amenities & Park Features
The park features several electric hookup sites designed to accommodate various RV sizes, though many sites are best suited for moderate-length trailers. Key facilities include a concrete boat ramp for easy lake entry and a designated swimming beach for cooling off during the summer months. Campers have access to flush toilets and warm showers, ensuring a comfortable stay in the woods. Additionally, the park provides a large picnic shelter and a playground, making it a functional space for group gatherings or family outings under the shade of mature trees.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure awaits just outside the park gates, starting with world-class trout fishing on the nearby White and North Fork Rivers. History and engineering buffs can explore the Norfork Dam, while hikers will find numerous trails winding through the surrounding national forest lands. For a change of pace, the city of Mountain Home offers local boutiques and dining options just minutes away. Boating remains the primary draw, with Norfork Lake’s thousands of surface acres available for skiing, wakeboarding, or searching for the perfect hidden fishing cove.
Who This Park Is Best For
Panther Bay Park is an ideal choice for dedicated anglers and boaters who want to be steps away from the water. Its peaceful atmosphere also makes it a favorite for retirees and couples seeking a quiet retreat without the noise of larger, high-traffic tourist hubs. Nice place for boating.

Showers clean and big! Sites have shared water may need uo to 100 feet of hose. Site 22 has no water. Mostly for tents or vans or smaller, less than 30 feet RV. No extra parking. No playground. Tight turn loop for longer RVs. No dump station have to go over to marina side to dump (less than 1 mile). Small loop, quiet, views through trees. Maps are wrong and take you to the marina. Gate to campground is closed due to flooding plus very twisty and steep. Go to stop sign, turn left, big campground sign and left turn lane about 1/2 mile on left from stop sign.

More for campers and not tents altho you can pitch a tent on some spots because of the uneven ground in places

Right now the park is divided.. the road is under water.

GPS took us to an entrance that was flooded. Had to call sheriff's department for help. Campground on top of a small hill is shady and sites are close to one another. Not easy to get to the lake. Bathhouse is standard camping fare. Runs out of toilet paper frequently. Camp host is a pleasant man, Craig. I'd give it a 3 out of 10.

Beautiful place and great trails. (Although the trail map indicates it continues to Bidwell Point. There's no way I would walk across the bridge!) Beautiful and peaceful even with the lower parking lot flooded.
